I trade high beta stocks. Most are in the QQQ. The low on the QQQ yesterday was 333.97. The low today was 334.01. So technically we didn't break an upward trend there. The high on the QQQ was also higher today than yesterday. So we had a higher high and a higher low. This is based strictly on a short term sentiment which is still bullish becuase we didn't have a lower low and a lower high. 95% of my trading strategy is based on the QQQ technicals

Levels I've had on my daily....717 been there for a long ass time, 751.83 is a newish addition that I was using on daily scalps.......talk about trading from level to level.

Ask yourself this - do investment capital gains primarily influence individuals or asset prices? Would you stop investing if capital gains were higher or just be ticked off about it?

Capital gains tax alone would not stop individual investors, but in addition to higher capital gains are higher taxes on property, sales, state-income tax for some, fuel at the pump(increased cost per gallon) and inflation. All of these combined will shrink a paycheck to the point that discretionary income evaporates and not much left to invest. By default, the extra cash won't be there. I think this combination would deliver the largest impact to the market.

Personally, after this year, I won't care about Capital Gains.

because there was abject panic on the board, I thought I would post this. we closed above yesterday and Tuesday's lows, essentially right at the 8 EMA. Notice volume elevated today and we've worked off a lot of our overbought condition. This could be the fuel to add 100 points.

If Dems raise the cap gains they'll lose house and senate in 2022.

Doubtful. Our country is run by a bunch of New Yorkers and Californians. They'll carve out some nice exemptions for themselves and their sycophants.

I'm with 30k....think this could be healthy short of some sort of catalyst.

I do pay attention to oscillators along with various others indicators, however and using RSI(9) here I added a vertical line about at each pullback area. Some more than others of course. But they correlate to RSI.

After today we dropped into the average zone area.

More interesting is look where the price action remained (candles at top) even with that RSI pullback. We stayed in a tight 3 day sideways trend. Almost every other pullback has wider price correlation.

IMO, technically the overall trend remains....for now....short of some crazy policy or event.
