While SPY daily volume the past 5 trading days is less than the previous three weeks, it hasn't continued to dwindle. Yesterday was more than 50 million and Friday was more than 60 million. It seems a bit overextended to me, but it could run along this top BB line for a month before coming back down. Half of my May and June SPXS call orders filled last week, I guess I had them priced a bit higher than I thought. I'm continuing to pare back when I get opportunities and will get in on SPY puts and more SPXS calls when SPY dips below the 1.44-sigm BB.

So 6 cases in 7 Million J&J shots resulted in blood clots. 1 person died. Really not sure what the FDA is thinking here.

Oh right, there's that "abundance of caution" phrase again.

Suspension Roils Markets..10 Yr Rallies...Stocks Slump.Reversing Overnight

We had just outlined the morning commentary... 10 years hit 1.70 overnight and stocks were rallying marginally, when we got the J+J news that the CDC and US Government were suspending vaccinations due to blood clots...we do not know the longer term effects of this and how quickly it will be reinstated, but markets have reversed their overnight move....we still believe the CPI number this morning will be meaningful and the long bond auction will struggle, but it is hard to judge the next move in the short term...

What we do know is that 10 years hit 1.70 overnight, meaning there is little Japanese participation... And the inflation issue is more than just a transitory issue...we still believe 2% 10 years is in the cards... And we noticed in the latest Bank America Global Fund survey for April showed a taper tantrum as the top tail risk by 32% of the participants.... We also saw a detailed analysis by JPM's Kolvanic of a bullish move in the S+P to 4400 this year... The median prediction in BB is 4100 with both Citi and BoA predicting year end of 3800...Kolvanic goes on to say that as long as 10 years do not breach the 2.5% level equities will be a good performing asset... We don't agree, but today is not the day to talk about year end until we know more about J+J, Inflation, and the real demand for treasuries...

Rates... Even with the J+J, we think rates will continue to probe to higher yields. There could be a downward move in yield, but we think the 1.77 level of 10 years will be challenged as the inflation fears will accelerate, along with significant growth in nonfarm....as for today. 1.77 and 1.62... The belly will be under pressure.

China's Huarong Finance, a Baa1/A rated bonds is under dire stress... The 3.375 of 2022 dollar bonds got slaughtered overnight going to over 30% yields... The 5 years hit 11%... There is talk that this government backed bond may file for protection... The Chairman was found guilty and executed...

This would have been a choppy day with CPI and the long bond auction... Add in the J+J uncertainty and it makes it a difficult one to handicap...

Welp - I'm ignorant but it seems logical that in an uncertain and overbought (for many stocks) environment that investors would begin to shy away from stocks of companies that aren't profitable . Of course, applying logic to a market that is often largely driven by emotion is probably a mistake.

There is nothing logical about the market in it's current state. That's why 95% of my trades are based on technical analysis and not fundamentals these days. Trading the news currently will kill your account.

My suggestion:
Use those squiggly lines on your charts and stop following so many gurus on Twitter.

Not directed at you cagey. Just an overall observation on my part given I see a lot of people heavy in MOMO

If it's a high beta pharma the answer is no, they can dilute and reverse split over and over, getting ever closer to 0 without ever actually getting there

No Mvis was tied to that.

It seems like anyone in the growth sector with big news of late is getting hammered by shorts (mvis, nnox, rblx).

Trying to make sense of the mvis drop myself, makes no sense.

i was referring to TLRY, DPW and WWR but yeah pharma is same boat.

I keep seeing people talking about making big premiums on these stocks in options but I only see total crap premiums. So I am not sure if my system reports different numbers or if they are trading way way way out.

Confirming 719 is what opens TSLA up for a huge MP. Reclaiming and closing over the 50DMA wil be huge.

Confirming 719 is what opens TSLA up for a huge MP. Reclaiming and closing over the 50DMA wil be huge.
That is what I would regret. Selling at open, have it close above 919 today, then fly tomorrow.

I have tried to learn and play with said squiggly lines on the charts and I'm slowly getting it. Is it safe to say when they are trading above the moving averages that it's bullish and the opposite is bearish? Trying to expand on exactly what I am seeing with those and how to play them.

This is the type of info I love on this board. Lot of information brought to it to learn at your own pace.
