Maybe I worded that wrong. Let's say I bought 1,000 more shares but want my position to stay the same a few days later. Can I sell the tax lot that's over a year and be okay instead of selling the newly bought shares. I have old CCL shares that hit a year. I'm 500 shares heavier than I want to be but bought shares recently. Should I sell the new shares or old shares or does it matter? Both are in the green.

If your brokerage settings are set to FIFO, the old shares will be sold first and taxed at LTCG rates.

Agree. I think the next ZM tweet takes this at least to 6.55 Model T area, assuming 4.10 was bottom of the move down from 9.

It sounds like you're expecting to sell at the top and buy on a dip. I'm just not sure why you wouldn't sell to pocket your profit and then buy more shares on the dip, instead of liquidating the entire position. Helps keep you insulated if that dip never comes and your shares increase in price.

Edit: Just saw your other reply. I was looking at this from a different angle.

I think yes, he was talking weeklies last night. Helped me rock some 391C's this morning!

I do agree a pullback here seems more likely the longer we linger here. A retest of 378 or so would be pretty healthy for a big run.
