Wow, I couldn't resist joining in the AMC fun. I bought it pre-market at my house and sold it when I got to my work parking garage for 55% profit. This market is nuts.

I can say I currently understand most strategies, but OA's strategy of buying calls and then shorting against them is something I haven't been able to wrap my head around.

yeah thats why i dont intend to ever play anything significant. I actually only bought like $1000 worth of BB and AMC a yesterday morning and ended up exiting BB with a tiny win thinking it wouldnt fly. Held AMC on a whim. may may a little money today. But these things arent solid plays, just like gambling, so i would never play big with them.

CLOV and PLTR are stocks i WISH would fly like this. Damn that would be fun.

Thanks...that seems lower than what I would've expected. I guess cause these are so far out.

Got that part, but confused on the actual execution. I've only ever bought puts (never actually shorted a stock)

Need someone to keep eyes on AMC option flow. Yesterday when we saw multi-million dollar sweeps on OTM calls you saw what happened to GME. If this happens to AMC you can bet your ass it's going to run.

If I understand it right...

The LEAPs are calls, so he can buy shares at a guaranteed price. By shorting now, he's getting profits at the current price, and if he's forced to cover, he can execute the LEAPs to buy at the guaranteed price (which is lower than where he shorted, I think).

I bought butterflies on GME yesterday mostly for fun. This morning the sold call portion got exercised so I have 200 shares short of GME and 2 calls to unwind this morning. I will wait until the initial craziness wears off and then unwind when there is a more stable price. Lots of money potential if I sold the calls now and tried to ride the shorts down, but way too much risk for me.
