Ranger nailed this one. There was a big dip after earnings that probably shook some folks but I forgot about this stock and just held on. Glad I did!

I was in options and had a solid return but nothing technically I could see when it bounced off resistance at $8.30s not to take the gains. You guys are killing this one!

If anyone is curious of my trading/investing 'journey' (I'm joking, I freaking hate when people use that term), it took 2-3 years to find my groove and balance and what works for me. I'm very simple, but here's what I have learned and blended together to form my overall strategy:

  • OA's technical analysis indicators and net free strategy
  • Scott Redler's technical analysis indicators (mostly 8/21/50/200 daily EMAs and simple patterns) and tier system strategy, along with his mental approach
  • John C. Carter's mental approach (Mastering the Trade)
  • CAN SLIM methodology
  • LEAN management of it all including visual management white board in my office with all positions and notes along with daily huddles to start the day (alone of course haha)

That's about it. I apply these to trades and investments ranging from a day or 2 to a few years. I've filtered out all the rest and complicated stuff because it's just too much data. Dumbing it down is the only way I can handle it.

Taking a look at, yes.

Looking at with a skeptical eye, yes.

Some of these folks had 2020 EOY S&P forecasts around 2,500-2,700.

Playing both sides of the same coin.

We are so very close in mindset and approach. I have learned (the hard way) I needed to 'master' a few things before taking on the next. You can make a lot of money with just basic fundamental blocking and tackling. I am not a big new years resolution guy since I believe each day is a gift and a chance to improve, so why wait until the first of a some date. Timing just worked that I set a strategy & objective I began January 4th.and will monitor, measure and adjust.

Careful here. Signal user base has grown from 10M to 50M as people flee WhatsApp. Could be pushed lower on that news.

Agree, continuous improvement, patience and perspective... I added a part about LEAN management. I was trained a few years ago at work with the principles and applying that to everything has done wonders.

I think I should rename my seminar "Dumbing It Down". I don't use all the fancy charting as much as keying in on what makes those bands and lines become what they are.

Exactly, ever seen Redler's charts? They're insanely simple as well. IMO, one can do insanely well using only 3 simple indicators (and really only the first 2):

  • Volume
  • Support & resistance levels
  • EMAs to clarify momentum for various times

The rest is just noise to me (MACDs, Bollinger Bands, Elliot Wave Theory) .. not saying they aren't valid, it just becomes overwhelming...

So I assume you're saying at a market top there are tons of upgrades to higher price targets, and then at the market bottom they will come out with a lot of downgrades of price targets?

I'll let OA give his way better perspective, but it usually seems to happen this way. Most of the upgrade/downgrade price target stuff is just non sense and reflective of the past. Most of these people who do this are either hacks or they are using this game to manipulate prices.

From my anecdotal experience, what tends to happen is big upgrades happen right near the end causing a blow off top on said stock. Opposite on bottom... big downgrades near end of down trends to create capitulation sell off with V bottom.

It has become so obvious that I'm not sure how much longer this contrarian indicators will work...

Not soon. I think legalization will be on the docket in year 1. If it's an "emerging market" for the next few years we can see expansion of these names until larger corporate interests conglomerate them. At that point we'll see them calm down.

Just my opinion though.

Just looking at the daily and saw that it has closed within 1 cent 3 of the last 4 days. Not sure what that means but seems like it could be significant for a $15 stock
Could be a pretty well defined new support level being developed maybe?

They also added $2 and $3 call options the other day. This bump up if holds might get $2 option for .10 or .15
