It is still there. Active is a stretch. Mostly just a better way of seeing OA tweets.Mr President Elect said:
Is the Slack channel still active? I just saw the posts about it back from early August when I was out.
I make my decisions on a case by case basis. I always ask myself if I think I have something lined up that will outperform that capital in the short to medium term. If yes, then go net free and buy something else. If no, then leave it until you spot something better. This has worked well for me on momo stocks that I've had strong conviction holding full for well more than a double... for example - NIO 900%, ROKU 525%, SQ 325% I'm still holding full because they are trend/growth stocks which I have higher targets on in the medium term. I've sold others like JD, MGNI and soon to be AMD when they've gone over double because I'm not as convicted or had some other reason... I've never sold AMZN because it's a safe investment for me and own it in taxable account for a few years. Now if they split, and it races to something absurd like $10k per share pre-split, then I'd probably sell half... or sell some covered calls... come on Jeff Bozo split your damn stock already!!!!tramaro1 said:
Wanted to get the opinion of the board. I know it is always best to go net free, however on a stock like Apple for example which continues to grow and pays a dividend. Do you go net free or keep letting it ride?
Planted AAPL long ago but if you have it post split I would want $140 before planting it. But when it gets there do plant it.59 South said:I make my decisions on a case by case basis. Glad you finally joined the party OA! Let's roll! I'm still holding my full load of 12/18 87.5s from 2.50 entry a couple weeks ago.oldarmy1 said:
Buying AMD $100 Dec 18 calls. It's going to hit $100 after this breather I'm pretty confident.

Those of you still in on $WKHS , there was a story yesterday that USPS was delaying its contract announcement yet again and that sent the stock tumbling AH yesterday.
There's some dispute on whether the story is accurate but even if it is, what do you guys think of the Jan 15 $19 @ $3.90 call? Seems like a good deal on the surface.

This is a great take and post. I struggle sometimes because I do sometimes actively trade, but not that often... more of a tweener between what is on here and long term investing... I made another thread on here a while back that has gotten some traction but not a ton.I bleed maroon said:tramaro1 said:

Do not confuse this thread with investing in the stock market. It is a TRADING thread, focused on short-term actions for people who are knowledgeable about options and other advanced strategies. I believe you are talking about a buy-and-hold position in AAPL, in which case, you should ignore this thread. Whether you take some gains or not depends more on these:
- If you believe you are over-allocated in AAPL vs. the rest of your portfolio, sell some (net free is a simple approach of selling enough to cover your initial investment, and ride with the remainder - it's a sound approach which I and many others use, but there's no magic to it)
- If you have other investments that you believe will outperform AAPL, sell some of it
- If you think AAPL has run its' course, and worse times are ahead, sell all of it
- Look at your tax situation before taking action as well. If it's in a tax-deferred account, capital gains don't apply. If it's in a taxable account, look at whether it is a short-term gain or long-term gain to determine tax treatment related to your other investment results this calendar year.
I have asked OA (or TexAgs) to change the title of this thread several times to "Active Traders" or something like that to avoid this type of issue. So far, no luck.
Hope that helps.

Nice trade. It could easily close the gap up at 24.57.Orlando Ayala Cant Read said:Orlando Ayala Cant Read said:

Glad I did this, up 34% in one day but #SHBM
Anything that has the phrase "accumulation" is at the very least mid term and most are long term.tramaro1 said:
Thanks for the info. Yes this thread has a lot of short term trading, however there are discussions on long term stock plays ie NIO, MBIO, and now WWR as a few examples.
Now for 2021. OA is making it one of his larger 2021 accumulation plays. I started yesterday and have been adding small amounts today. Next group I add will for me be to see if dips below $6.gigemJTH12 said:
can you fill me in on WWR? has he started accumulating yet or did he say 2021?

I believe he said if it drops below $5 then MA.
I'm glad I jumped out yesterday for no loss. I am back in at 1.26FJ43 said:Make that X 3zwhag2010 said:CrazyRichAggie said:In at $1.3559 South said:Glad you finally joined the party OA! Let's roll! I'm still holding my full load of 12/18 87.5s from 2.50 entry a couple weeks ago.oldarmy1 said:

Looking on a 10 Min it is still falling and hasn't taken back the trend yet so I would be curious if it hits that $8.24ish level and bounces back up. Big spike up and not sure it has settled yet but if it bounced or a flash there might be an entry?$30,000 Millionaire said:
what do you guys think about SFT? Poor man's CVNA.
You can also sell January $7.5 puts that is likely to give you a net entry below $5. I just sold some for $2.67GtownRAB said:tramaro1 said:gigemJTH12 said:

Part of his strategy was selling January $5 puts for about $1 giving you a potential net entry at $4.
