MGNI - I ended up deciding to go net free right at the $11.70 high mark today on the shares in my capital gains account and letting the rest ride. Didn't touch the shares in my tax deferred account yet. I may also look to go net free on those shares next week sometime as well.

1.78 for me.

1.91 here on MSFT.

I also sold a 225 put.

10 at 1.82 on MSFT.

Especially when you have the collective media framing what is going to happen. Better safe to have good strategy plays both ways. I increased my hedges the end of last week 'betting' on continued volatility. I expect much of the election results to end up at SCOTUS. If (personally I feel when) any meaningful voter fraud is confirmed this will be a wild ride.

Agree, this thing is far from over. Too much smoke in PA, MI, WI, NV, GA to not dig a little. Recounts in all states coming soon, if not already occurring.

I am keeping hedges through the inauguration, at least. I don't care if I lose money on them.

The media today has been relentless calling the election for Biden. An apparent unified effort dismissing potential fraud with no regard to the possibility . That being said, I can't imagine at this stage how anything of accuracy can be achieved. Assuming widespread fraud, trying to reestablish the actual votes at a specific day/time, unwind votes filled in by those counting votes, altered ballots & time stamps, those destroyed/discarded, etc. seems impossible. Add to that much of it ending up in courts, I think that will create greater volatility and market uncertainty until the smoke settles one way or another. Especially with Senate seats looming yet.

One good thing this election cycle has has driven me to do is evaluate those I follow on Twitter that provide market tips, trade ideas, etc. My list I follow has reduced significantly the past week.

Same. I think there is a chance between now and then to go net free given the swings on some of it even if small amounts, then let it ride to 0 if necessary. Either way I don't care if I lose on those either at the present time.

Trade the trend.....

You can't predict when with 100% certainty. In the long haul, stocks go up. If I had to give a timeline I think we see new highs in Q1/Q2, then a sell off. The fed, covid, and stimulus are the ultimate wild cards in this race.

Right now I am 60% long quality equities, 35% cash, and 5% short in my active / non managed account. On a net basis across everything I am probably 80% long. I will lower this and increase short positions as we go up.

Depends on your time horizon. I'm in refining, and we are expecting a bad 2021 as well. We are only now seeing rationalization in the industry with Shell recently announcing the permanent closure of a mid sized refinery in Louisiana. COVID has made clear the fragility of the fuels market and how subject we are to the marginal barrel. More rationalization is needed even if demand begins to recover in '21 because some of the trends of remote working may be permanent.

All that to say, I'm not bullish on the industry in '21. Beyond that, who freaking knows?

Thanks. Appreciate it. I'll stay away for now. I have no o&g exposure but damn it's tempting. Supply is declining and it's just a matter of when demand roars back or something goes hay wire in the MIddle East. That said it's not the most popular space to invest in these days. Hmmmm.... Guess I'll stick to tech and real estate predominately.
