Trump's re-election odds are directly relevant to the outlook of investors and businesses.M.C. SCOTUS split the cases. They ruled the Manhattan DA can get them but not Congress. Manhattan DA office is full of progressives, there will be a "leak" so dems and media will get them.
Honestly, this has nothing to do with the objective of this thread. Can we please leave the political arbitrage at the door?
Anything that hurts 'A single citizen", who happens to be the sitting president that highly values economic performances, re-election chances will cause news dips. Whether it's a flash in the pan, or start of a trend is worth further discussion.M.C. I sold 7/17 $7 covered calls on it, if called out next week then a cool 100% profit in a few weeks, I'll take itBenRev09 said:

I'm not going to get into politics, but can we change the motto to "Amazon only goes up". Seriously wish I just had put all my money in that and just wouldn't need to worry about markets.panduh bear said:
I would argue that Biden's team would be filled with Wall St folks and hedge fund guys much like Trump's.
Trump would be best for long term employment IMO but, as far as money goes, the policies will be radically similar and slanted toward the "stocks only go up" idea with either administration.
I think that's partially why we aren't seeing the huge drop that should come with all of the terrible economic news.
Just my opinion YMMV.
yeah, Prog and I were kind of talking about this before. Bidens politics are VERY conservative for a democrat, so the swings will be less harsh. The media sensationalizes everything though. Re-election for a sitting pres is almost guaranteed.panduh bear said:

ONTX sliding down a bit today. Would be nice to see it stabilize a bit. Although might be good to load up on a few shares if it gets down close to $0.50/share.

just went below 3120 and selling pressure not letting up yet. I agree re: rally later today.Tex Shirley said:
Shorted just before open but got out at 3145. Did not see this deep a move coming, and I think we close >3120
I see 8 as 311.24 Looks like it bounced back against that.aggiedaniel06 said:
8 is long gone. 21 is on deck.
3120 is the 21 day EMA and a huge HVN. We break that and 3070 is next.
I could swing a covered call on XLK, but would eat up 60% portion of my cash. May just keep it on the radar and watch for a pullback.deadbq03 said:Can you afford to do a covered call? If not, can you afford a covered call on XLK?Rice and Fries said:
Is it too late to take a position in QQQ? I have some tech stocks, but I'd like to park part of my BRKB holdings in the Roth into QQQ, since BRK isn't doing much.
It's obviously a long term hold for moi, but I am curious if the board would recommend jumping in now or wait until a pullback?
