Anything that hurts 'A single citizen", who happens to be the sitting president that highly values economic performances, re-election chances will cause news dips. Whether it's a flash in the pan, or start of a trend is worth further discussion.M.C. I made a couple hundred bucks on spy puts on the news. If there is good news for democrats and bad news for Trump the market drops 99 times out of 100.

Watch and see if SPY holds the 8 day here. If it doesn't and things get shaky, then we'll probably see the 21 tested today or tomorrow around 310. If that were to fail, then it had better hold the 50 down around 303.50. That is also clear trend line support so the most critical level to hold over the next few days.
I would argue that Biden's team would be filled with Wall St folks and hedge fund guys much like Trump's.
Trump would be best for long term employment IMO but, as far as money goes, the policies will be radically similar and slanted toward the "stocks only go up" idea with either administration.
I think that's partially why we aren't seeing the huge drop that should come with all of the terrible economic news.
Just my opinion YMMV.

yeah, Prog and I were kind of talking about this before. Bidens politics are VERY conservative for a democrat, so the swings will be less harsh. The media sensationalizes everything though. Re-election for a sitting pres is almost guaranteed.panduh bear said:

Shorted just before open but got out at 3145. Did not see this deep a move coming, and I think we close >3120

Where's the Fed? I'm about getting ready to enter some positions now. Been sitting on the sideline for about a month with minimal day trading.

I guess you're referring to the 8 SMA. The ones I mentioned are EMA's.
