I'm still thinking we open green tomorrow. I'd love for certain stocks to tank, but don't see it. There was a protest in Greenville tonight (had to leave the restaurant early, which was packed without a mask in sight), but it was mainly white hipsters.

Funny- I saw an ADT ad a couple minutes ago and thought duh I should have checked that out... Not wild about their valuation (already had a jump this month) and long term trends. Still a cheap stock (per share) that small time traders may pile into and could ride the wave here maybe...

Love Brinks in relation to this- but listed PE is insane... Gonna go through their latest conference call (they missed earnings) and more dd tonight...

The irony is the riots could be actually be good for the economy if it helps gets people out of quarantine and it proves the 'rona isn't worth holing up for anymore.

Why? These riots don't really make a dent in terms of consumer behavior. Of course you could argue that we shouldn't be here because of the COVID environment but I don't think the riots move the market unless they last for another week or explode in to big time violence

As soon as I saw the market down 1% tonight, I figured it would be up 1% at opening. On that pace so far. Go figure.

With this many consecutive gap ups, I can see a bear rally be swift as the support levels will be pretty weak once breaching 3,000. With VIX refusing to go below 25 for any reason, it just feels like we are due soon.

That means VIX will plummet tomorrow since I spoke about it

I dont view that put as a he think markets are going down monday or even next week. It is a, hey cheap time to get in as protection. More of an eye on an escalation with china or a second wave hitting (though if that fails to happen 2 weeks from now in think these riots might open things up). When everything looks good that is when you want to think about protection.

The HKSE is up almost 3.5% so far. Albeit, it's early in the open there. Me thinks the Chinese didn't expect the removal of the special interest tag that gave them the easy capital access and the Chinese might do a little back pedaling soon.
