To anyone looking for a new read....I've started the book "Mastering the Trade" by John Carter. I'm about 25% in and so far so good. It's not a "system" book and it doesn't teach you things you could easily google, but he gets into the psychology and mechanics of trading and I think it's a valuable tool in your toolbox, at least as far as I'm into it I think it is.

I just got a squeeze alert on $MARK. Quick look shows healthy runup over the past month and now consolidating on the 1D chart and the 1H chart. I'm not ready to enter yet, but will be watching for potential entry.

I've found trailing stops hurt me more than help me. I set alarms on TOS and then make the move in most cases. The market makers see where the stops are, and they will push an upward trending stock down, briefly, to take out the stops. Then they continue higher.

I watched them take out the stops a few times on stocks that I own. It was almost comical, as I didn't have stops at the time.

When all of this covid nonsense took out my trading account, I was on vacation with very limited access. Having trailing 10% stops would have saved me some serious money.

Butterflies, specifically long butterflies.

Can someone explain to me how you don't get assigned 100 shares if your butterfly closes just below the 2 short options?

ie: SPY

Say you wanted a long 308/305/302 (Buy 308 put, sell two 305 puts, buy 302 put) put fly for tomorrow and at expiration it closes at 304.88. How is it you're not assigned 100 shares at 305 when in theory you'd be close to max profit at 304.88 close?

Remember the other day when I said I've seen this pattern 100 time (may have said 1000) before on the down drafts leading to no real sell off - and to be buyers? Look at V now. Already started that slow steady rising wedge. I could see it coming a mile away. You will be able to as well as you continue.
