This was manufactured selling imo.

Powell slammed the door on further rate cuts, then backtracked on it. Markets still pricing in 2 more cuts this year so I'd say they responded accordingly to the initial impression.

Off the lows now that he clarified

I was thinking the same thing. I was looking at facebook to hit the 193 range it bounced off earlier this week and it did and looked like a hard V bottom. The whole market hit a wall on the way down and bounced.

Serious question though, I had a nice chunk of coin come in while we were at or near all time highs, so I've just held it in a high yield money market account for the last couple months.

I have no short term liquidity needs for it, so it'll go into my buy and hold post tax portfolio as soon as I'm ready.

What's the dip that draws you into the market? My thinking is 10% below all the top. There is some risk I sit out of the market too long waiting, and still some risk of grabbing a falling knife.

Anyone want to share their thinking?

Same question as Frisco due to rolling over large $$$ 401k into IRA. Not sure best strategy at all time highs.

that is what I meant by manufactured.

They are scraping "data" or information from the internet and making moves based on predicted outcomes.

I am just wondering if there is some sort of timer in the algos. They buying came back about 15 minutes later.

That's what I figured. Cavuso's guests just 'confirmed' it.

If Chinese military moves on Hong Kong the world markets will take a big hit.

This would be a China against the world move and would demand action from every developed country.

I think that type of move by China would force the gov't into a trading curb

Nothing to report yet. The WH is just monitoring. Besides, it's probably a lot harder to report from inside China, JMO

I'm supposed to be back in HK and China in Sept. and if some of this **** doesn't settle down, that trip is getting cancelled.
