Was just coming to make note of this. I think if there are no more attacks tonight, Trump speaks in the morning and says "The US and Iran are talking". Yeah, I see they offer 20 or so. Good thing I opened an account with them this morning! Waiting on their response to see if they will match the options contract commission rate I get with Etrade before I move the bulk of my money over.

Doubtful. Model T tends to be somewhat consistent even after hours so a 50% retrace of lows will likely be overrun and then sink back to 23-25. Where it makes it by 7am will be interesting

Yes. The Iranians have highly sophisticated missile guidance systems. These misses were on purpose and it was face saving. If they'd have actually killed any Americans or hit major interests, it would be a different story.

What if, and it's my imagination going nuts here, the Ayatollah is looking to soften but the General was running the hardline. In the event of a softening, the General stages a coup and takes over. With General gone, meaningful talks with the U.S. can happen?

In theory we all shouldn't want war. Iran doesn't want it out of fear of annihilation. We don't want it out of fear of the cost of doing the annihilating.
I wouldn't give him that much credit. He know he'd be wiped out if we did go to war so he saves face now and tries to wait Trump out.

No joke. This is very possible. Trump doesn't like anything with Obama's signature on it. This gives him a chance to negotiate his own Iran deal, coming from a position of strength.
