Yeah i might regret selling those covered calls today. Lol. But it seemed a prudent hedge on a portion of it.

I can second this emotion. I was watching all morning trying to get filled on half of my position on the $5 Feb '26. Went into a meeting and came back to not only them being filled, but the ask price had jumped by half.

Again it's only on half the position and a long ways to go.

Everybody is talking about cashing out on BBAI, buying back in after it drops. Why is nobody talking about buying this stock? I've cashed out of stuff today too, so no judgement.

How many of us sold PLTR after booking a 50% return at $11? I know I did. Maybe we should buy more BBAI?

I agree with this guy...

I made this mistake with Rigetti. Bought at 12, sold at 19… bought half my original share back at 30, sold at 39, and rebought at 46.. had the same sized positions for IONQ and QBTS and sold all of them WAY too early.

If I would have just held… I'm in for 500 shares at $5 on BBAI, I'm riding it to the moon.

Both NVDA and AMD CEOs have made the comment that we all think this is a bubble or over inflated and they've both stated we're just in the beginning. I'm not making that mistake again.

I'm still holding strong on RGTI and QBTS with a basis of about $12/sh on each. I totally missed on IONQ. What might be a good entry at this point, assuming it might drop again?

I don't know.. this has been so hyperbolic that I am struggling with trading it. The pull backs on stuff like this is normally harsh, but what if this is just the beginning.

I have 100 shares of RGTI. A fraction of what I had at $12, but I'm baffled at it at the moment. Just trying to make sure I have even a small piece. Not too big in case I wake up tomorrow and it's $20 that I don't walk off the ledge lol

Friday was down $158,000. Didn't sell or buy anything at all. Up $88,000 today. Helluva yo-yo market. Good thing I didn't retire on Friday.

I sold 100 shares today. I also sold some puts expiring this week. But as usual, I missed the meat of the move.

Don't know which, if any, of today's news stories are responsible, but I found the SoftBank one interesting. They're taking out a margin loan on their ARM shares to invest more in OpenAI. Seems like a rookie retail investor move, not something a conglomerate with expertise and access to all capital markets methods would employ. I guess if time is of the essence (beating someone else to the punch?), it may make sense, but seems risky to me. Of course, I held SoftBank shares for about 3 years and broke even, so I may hold a grudge.

Oh - I also have $180 ARM covered calls expiring Friday. Will be deciding to roll them or let the shares go - anyone have thoughts?

Me personally, I'd let them ride and let them get called away.

I'm probably going to get **** on for this, but it needs to be said. Days like today, following a couple months of space-bound trash, with really no meaningful retracements for months, and following a bad day that still didn't retrace the previous months much at all (zoom out on a chart and tell me how bad Friday was.. hint.. barely a blip).. the sentiment of this market is one of blowoff. I'm not sure if we're in the final blowoff or still building up to it after another retracement. But the last couple months are not normal. Not historically for healthy markets. I say all this to remind, yet again, even though there is likely higher to be had in many names.. to please protect your money. It's numbers on a screen. These valuations aren't real. The prices are a midpoint between bid and ask. Friday in crypto showed us what happens when the bid gets overwhelmed and there isnt enough of it. Whatever liquidity is providing a floor.. once its toppled.. it can be a quick ride down. And all those numbers on the screen can all of the sudden be much smaller. Do what you do. Ride the wave of awesomeness we're in. Have fun and make a killing. But please know it can end quick and reverse quicker. Im not saying sell everything. Im saying know your plan. And I'll keep saying it, because what always follows these regimes is not pretty.

Yeah - I have held them since the IPO, and am up 237% on the shares. Rolled covered calls a couple times, at least, and I think I'm ready to reallocate elsewhere. BUT, I reserve the right to change my mind before end of day Friday.

Hear, hear!

Definitely time to use some risk management techniques, or learn some quickly. Seriously, there are several on this board who have VERY good trading methods and discipline. I don't always agree with their stock picking methods, but you can't get a lot better than learning trading techniques from H-A, OA1, 30K, FJ, and several others here.

No one is saying you should convert everything to cash, but PLEASE cash in partial gains, set stops, add protective puts, or write covered calls on highly appreciated runners that may be running out of gas.

I have zero doubt that ARM will be $300+ in the future, but you have to remember that the gang aren't all the same.

  • Size Matters (IB4 'that's what she said'). Your largest position probably consists of 1,000s of shares, so you're not going to swing trade your core holding. I doubt anyone in here is in your situation.
  • If they're swing trading 50-500 shr lots and can book a massive profit on a trade they should. Hits like that build up a cash position to redeploy on dips. That compounds their accounts, especially if they're trading in a tax-deferred account like an IRA.
  • No one knows when a stock tops, but nothing sucks worse than riding one up only to ride it back down and feel the regret of not taking the money.
I'm not saying what that your advice is wrong, because it isn't but one size doesn't fit all. I'm a swing trader and have taken tiny accounts to significant ones by riding the waves (HA just got a stiffy ).

Sell Feb $5 covered calls. If retraces your shares are 'free'. If you get called out you made 6X your investment in 4 months.

Risk off. Ride.

I don't subscribe to the idea we are topping but moves like Friday and today back to back have my attention. Big risks and rewards out there right now. And I do agree that lots of what will ultimately be trash companies have insane valuations right now.
