Given it appears to be the onions, I think MCD recovers a lot of it's losses over the next few days.

I'm watching the 21 EMA on the daily - waiting on it to close under that.

Yeah the last 3 pullbacks have began on a close below the 21ma. Weekly 21 has also been a pivotal level as well and it's all the way down at $181.

We've done it successfully here for a long time. Let's try to keep it up.

Agreed. Everyone knows I'm political but not in here. In here we're not red/blue, we're all team green so let's not ram heads please.

TSLA has never had an earnings that popped this hard. Closest was back in April and took multiple days to do what today is doing. Prepare for the wild swings both ways. But today is short covering and dealer hedging. I'm going to likely sell a call on part of my position by end of day, probably as it approaches the $265 trendline resistance.

But what's interesting is that RSI is not even overbought on daily, and MACD is just starting to confirm an upward crossover. So I won't default to the daily gap closing on a retrace. Maybe a 50% retrace back to $235-$240.

Was watching the beer candles to catch clues of a slowing or reversal of trend. Nothing yet. Might just let it ride, but it would be nice to get the cash back.

I'm super new to this game, bought hundred shares of PLTR at $25 and am trying to decide to keep or dump.

Thoughts from the more seasoned?

I haven't looked at the PLTR in awhile, but would you enter a trade to the long side on PLTR now? If not then you probably don't want to own them. If you would, then you probably want to hold.

Also, have to ask yourself these questions and weigh your choices based on how you answer.

1. Would you be mad if it came back to $20-$25 area?
2. If not, would you buy more there?
3. Would you be mad if you sold and it was at $60 next year? $75?

See, I could post my chart again showing that I still think it's in a topping pattern. But other people I respect believe it's in the early stages of an even larger move. Nobody truly knows. When you entered, what was your goal? Was it to profit short term? Long term hold?

If none of this has helped you pick a path, then I'd recommend selling half. You will get most of your money back and stay invested in case it keeps rising. At that point, you can wait for significant red days to add back little by little, slowly gaining exposure.

But one thing I know, I don't see a clear setup for an entry right now. Especially one that limits risk.

One thing I've learned on this forum is how to let stocks go, take gains without regret and to never try and get even so to speak with any particular stock and chase bad money with good

I made some good money on PLTR. If it ever drops significantly again I'll buy more. I think I have an order out there for 1 share at $30, GTC as a reminder to check in every now and then, and if the 1 share ever goes thru I'll look at adding.

That said, PLTR seems frustrated with the contract award process within our military

Been accumulating SOXQ in two different accounts (brokerage and 401k), totally different amounts and timetables, but I was looking at it today and I have identical cost/share on both accounts, down to the penny. $39.99.

How weird is that.

Yep but pontificating about the personal opinions on the issues is not part of this thread.

If you're new I'd suggest reading through LOTS of pages front he start of this thread. I did and it taught me about covered calls which have made me a lot of money I would have missed out on.

I almost bought PLTR in the $22 range but had unexpected bills pop up that ate free cash I was going to use. Kicking myself now bc I was only expecting it to get to $30-$32. Now it's way past that. I looked the other day and knew if I had it I would be selling a CC out to like February and sell one around $48 or so and get several hundred bucks for it. If I get called it's a PHENOMENAL return in a matter of months if not called I've lowered my total investment significantly then rinse and repeat

SPY and Q's ripping to just underneath ATH's...setting up megacap earnings next week for either a flash crash like H-A believes (if they disappoint, I would presume) or rocketship to new ATH's and SPX 6,000 like I believe...I just think everyone is getting back into the megacap trades...should be an interesting week for sure...

Not saying it was a smart move, but I have the vast majority of my Roth (69%) in SOXL at the moment.

Only up 3.5% on it overall, but the daily gain looks pretty nice.

First profit will be taken at $37.

Yeah, I saw a story that said Putin asked Musk not to let Taiwan have Starlink…as a favor to China

I hope Musk gave it to them for free just as a "F U" to China. But that would be poor business as TSLA China market is massive for him.
