Global equities started lower through midnight as Chinese PMI's came out much weaker than expected... But the reality is when it comes to China, bad news is good news, because the PBOC is expected to come to the rescue and ease further... Then Global equities reversed losses and the S+P futures hit a high at 4am . The reverse, which would be expected, happened in treasuries where 10 years went higher in yield from 1.27 to 1.30... Then, the Austrian ECB member, reiterated some of last weeks talk where the headlines said

Sorry to list all the headlines. It shows that you have 10 year highs in European inflation coinciding with a very hawkish interview by ECB Holzmann... Bunds got crushed by about 4 basis points , and are now 12 basis HIGHER IN YIELD, over the beginning of the month... Treasuries are trying to ignore this as month end flows from reallocation's benefit treasuries for today... But tomorrow, and in front of Friday's employment number, will not be as favorable....

Fed... Two big names in bonds came out in the last 24 hours blasting the Fed for being behind the curve on tapering... The former head of the Indian Central bank, Ragan, and the global macro head of Fidelity, Timmer, both are out there saying what we have been saying... The window for tapering is short and the Fed needs to start ASAP, to build optionality...and they could find the window closing sooner than they think... Do not waste an opportunity...

Inflation... Will not belabor it... Since January 2021, the national median rent has increased a staggering 13.8%... To put that in context, rent growth from January to August averaged just 3.6% in the pre-pandemic years from 2017 to 2019".. That from Apartmentlist.

We are fearful of the September trading month... We have not seen a 5% correction in the major averages for a very long time... Risk markets are living on borrowed time... And now the ECB is talking about removing stimulus... And the Fed governors are trying to push Powell to announce tapering in September... The market is not ready for this... We think inflation and this weeks employment number will bring Powell ,kicking and screaming, to taper sooner than later... Infrastructure could delay a market correction but for how long?... And we still think rates are way too low, but they will not move up quickly... But September could have an ugly trend... So mark your positions at month end today... No tv set up today so the company banner has been put back into its case....

I think they generally have gotten a bad rap on the teeth thing and seems to be an older crowd thing. The younger generations (<50s or so) tend to care more.

Not many masks here anymore so can confirm thesis is holding anecdotally. Although I rarely get out into the countryside and stick mostly to the upper & upper middle class metro melting pot areas.

Can also confirm that the SDC commercials on TV are just as relentless as ever.

Decided to take the day calmly playing TSLA and AMC.
