WDC really do be windin up nicely tho. Great stuff today so far. Added to my 1/15 $45 call stack when OA gave warning.
Should only be one trade.ClutchCityAg said:
Question about smaller accounts under 25K...
Lets say I buy 10 option contracts of a single stock. Then I scale out by selling 3 contracts, then I sell 2 more, then I sell the remaining 5. All of this during the same trading day.
Does that count as 3 separate "round trip trades" or as 1?
Counts as 1 if one buy. 3 sells do not equal 3 round trip day trades.ClutchCityAg said:

Looks like I wasn't the only one with a $3.05 stop order.oldarmy1 said:

You guys DO NOT want to miss this when it happens.
some kind of dividend? Yes, they've done quarterly for probably as long as I've been alive. Months 2/5/8/11AgEng06 said:
This may be a dumb question... but did AAPL do some kind of dividend or whatever? For some reason I have an additional 0.034 shares this morning?
I do have margin. So I have the 3 round trip trade limit.FJ43 said:Counts as 1 if one buy. 3 sells do not equal 3 round trip day trades.ClutchCityAg said:

Buying - sell - buy - sell of the same stock would be 2 day trades in a day.
If you are a cash account it doesn't matter though.

AAPL started their dividend in 2012.
You can always open a 2nd account and move some money into it as a cash account so you don't have those limitations. I use TOS so its easy to switch between accounts such as tax deferred, cash, margin, etc.ClutchCityAg said:I do have margin. So it should only show up as 1 of my 'day trades.' Thank you all for the answers!
Thinking about switching to cash account... Would like to have the freedom to sell quicker to minimize losses and then jump back in lower, rather than having to ride it all the way down or use one of my 3 day trades.

Was this TSLA? Because today they did not let me open a position on TSLA for today

I bought 10k shares when it was around $2.50 and promptly sold when it hit $3.50 even though OA said this this was going to rocket. So if anyone feels like a dumbass right now, its big G. Instead of the 10K profit I would be looking at 400K in profit. That would have eaten up a large chunk of my losses year to date.Orlando Ayala Cant Read said:
My apologies to the board for bringing NIO down.
If its any consolation to you guys, finally...I had one time where I was on the right side of one of these things. Just as I posted that, I sold off all my remaining position in it at just over $52 after selling a lot along the way in its run up from $19ish to $50ish. Its now $43ish.

I am heavy shares and also bought some options. Heavy shares so I have flexibility to go net free on a portion or sell covered calls on part should we get a spike.Dale Earnhardts Stache said:

The presser is about the Covid vaccine and Project Warp Speed. It's probably good that he's giving it after the market closes though.Brian Earl Spilner said:
