The 10YR treasury jumped 11bps today to 3.17% from 3.08% this morning.

That is a HUGE move. I've got some borrowers looking to rate lock their loans now.

It's simple resistance fail. Bumps up against upper band and falls. As long as it consolidates it should punch through. Wouldn't surprise me to see it coincide with Kavanaugh decision.

Interest rates going up with more hikes to come due to the booming economy and inflation picking up.... including wage inflation. We are reaching the point where cash is now competing more effectively with stocks and bonds for people's investment portfolios. As interest rates continue to rise, at some point, we will get stock multiple compression.

I have a question to ask for you.

Let's say hypothetically, that inflation in the economy starts to build, the yields keep rising and bonds keep their sell off.

What will be the overall effects on the economy? And what moves would you make now if you expected inflation to be trending upward significantly in 4-6 months?

Obviously, you can't predict the future but it seems to me that inflation positive stocks like Visa, GS, banking would be a decent move to make? My only concern is how the overall levels of the stock market would play into those stocks and if we see the market begin to correct and those pressures take most stocks down with them.

I am just not sure what to make of the yields as a sign of the overall economy, but I know several of my mortgage bankers are upset at the 3.20% 10YR.

NIO...been watching this morning and its been a lot of large ask all morning. 30k-40k shares.

Generally 1 of 2 scenarios. 1) Short sellers back, although the uptick rule is off again. 2) Shake weak traders out before jumping after open.

First 30 minutes to see it unfold.
