I know this happens because of my lack of discipline but Lord... I can't help but think there is someone with a "drive down the price" button with their thumb hovering over it everytime I buy a BABA call. Killin me Petey!

I think everyone is freaking out about the Miami Marlins today.

I know this, long term, casinos are going to be just fine.

If it was actually a pump and dump I think we'd have seen the markdown. Gives me confidence there is probably another leg up.

isn't it a bit early in the season to be sharing a slump buster? LOL

agree though on casinos, I keep watching MGM for calls out to August. Next fib level down though is 12.42 on the daily, ouch!

It's a .50 buy right now premarket for tomorrow. (So way off the .33-35 initially talked about.)

Is .50 coming in too late on this thing?
it's a little late, don't chase it - I would watch it at open. If it doesn't run pre-market, you may get a pullback entry after the open if you want it.
So I've been following him the last few days now and I cannot tell if he's posting his predictions before after hours jumps, or after the jumps have already happened. For instance tonight he posted about BFCH looking up and that stock is showing +20% in after hours. So I'm not sure if he's making a prediction, or just making an observation at times and trying to take credit for a prediction?

Same with SWRM. Up 15% but not sure if he picked that increase, or if he's just taking credit or observing it.

I think he does a bit of both... he was in on SNSS early and most likely sold half of it Friday after hours or this morning before it got shorted.

I would caution you in playing too many names. I'm only in a few of his plays, then in OSTK, OSTKO (same rights as OSTK but at a bargain still), and CWH. I found by trial and error, that if I play a ton of things at once it is too much to keep up with and I prefer it a bit simpler and smaller. I also have to balance real work with this!

I had a large position in $Wynn that I sold a couple of weeks ago when it got above $80.00 because that got me back to even with my initial investment.

If Wynn drops below $70.00, it will be hard to resist buying at least a small position. Any kind of confirmed vaccine or therapeutic that takes death off the table will have casinos and airlines take a moon shot. Fun for a small portion of your portfolio, but I can't see going in as deep as I did previously.

On ZEST I'm not expecting news until closer to WMT earnings in a few weeks. Things will heat up just on speculation until then driving the price higher imo. If nothing comes before Labor Day we may see a decline then but it's headed steady now for a few weeks in this range and $4 seem like a certainty at this point.

August should bring an up list at least and potential Zest buyout middle of month as many are speculating at this point.

right. I may not be able to run that on all the earnings companies at 2:00 today.

Unless I missed something, DAL no longer has a dividend as it was suspended several months ago.

from Mark Grace... Tony Gwynn is who I heard describe it first:

"A slumpbuster is when you have to take one for the team. It's finding the biggest, fattest broad, and you put the wood to her to come out of your slump. Also known as 'jumping on a grenade for the team.'"

Been getting more into the spread game and have been following some of yals spreads. Was just making sure on ones like PFE, are yal planning on selling it today before close or do yal think it's earnings will not move it much Pre market tomorrow.

when you sell an iron condor / iron fly you are betting that the actual price move will be less than the expected move. You sell the condor before earnings and buy to close post earnings.

If you think the price will move more than that, there are other options like buying a straddle. that would have worked on INTC last week. We bet that the move would be less than the anticipated move and it ended up being more.

I gotcha, better chance on big $ when premiums are ran up from expected earnings and earnings turn to be uneventful. Correct?

My earnings plays have mostly been focused on the movement not exceeding the anticipated movement.

Say ABC is trading at 100, and the expected move is 8% based on the implied volatility. I might sell the 110/112.5C spread and the 90/87.5p spread the night before. This takes advantage of inflated premium due to the earnings announcement and if it's executed properly, you can then close out the trade soon after for some type of profit if the price of ABC doesn't zoom past what you set your strikes at.

McInnis - I don't know if the expected move of PFE is going to be enough to justify it. FFIV and MCD have good ranges. PFE if I'm calculating right (right now) only has a $1.50 expected move.

If you get a chance can you post what this might look like? I can google what a bull flag chart looks like in general and have, but real life examples always help. If not no worries at all. Just trying to learn a little more on when to look for those.

Side note bought calls on Visa exp Friday. Thinking if it can clear $200 it will fly back to it's all time high of around $213. Got them for $0.37 per contract stike $207.5.

You can find the premiums inside of Vanguard.

Two ways to do it:
1. Put in stock ticker into upper right hand side.
2. Click on Stock
3. Go to right hand side and view options for this stock

OR

1. Click on My Accounts Buy and Sell
2. Click on Options (bottom right under Other brokerage products and services)
3. Then look at them in real-time one by one.

I hope that helps.
