Any thoughts on $OXY going into earnings tomorrow? Feels like a long term bearish investment but some of the oil names are popping over the past week.
I've got a few 5/15 17.5s that are going up or going to zero. They've done a good bit to preserve capital and Carl doesn't want Vicki's head on a pike currently. So we'll see

Something some of y'all may want to keep an eye on; ECL had about $50MM worth of stock bought between 16:00:01-16:00:19. Basically in 18 secs someone bough ~1/4 of the avg. daily volume and they did it AH.

twice as many calls as puts for today's volume. Most volume was in the 70 and 71 5/3 calls. I've been seeing people post some info that the gaming stocks are setting up for a potential bullish move, guessing they expect with quarantine that people are buying games and paying for in game add ons. Ah I've been meaning to buy one of those big volume ecl 5/15 calls you posted the other day and forgot about it. Tomorrow will probably be too late

Do you think I'm disagreeing because of your politics or because you miss that the fear porn results in the feds action (equally politically driven)? I want an unmanipulated market, both directions.
I am a complaining bear in the current set up. Feels like ES_F is being low volume manipulated to gap up.
Agreed. This market is frustrating to trade in right now. I think I may call it quits for a while. Unless of course Bill Ackman gets on the TV again.

I'm a bull pissed off that fear and ****ty data was used to destroy one of the greatest bull runs in history. The knife cuts both ways

We don't know yet if the fear is appropriate, excessive, or far less than there should be. Time will tell and anything else is conjecture. I believe in data and science, and I'm willing to admit when I don't know things. I would rather the media talked about it and trusted people to make up their own minds on how much of a threat covid is to them. A lot of people are getting into confirmation bias, both ways, and cherry pick what they want to believe.
To be more specific, I think the fed is moving the market more than anything with the printing and bond buying. Like everyone else, I hope this is a "hoax" but it increasingly looks like it's very real.
You don't think the pre covid market was over valued and propped up by the fed? There was no meaningful earnings growth in 2019-2020. I'm a long term bull, everyone should be, but I started shifting to a greater cash position in late 2019. The fed blew it when they flipped in dec 2018.

Initially when things started dropping I was very bullish on things, I assumed the lockdowns would last a month. Now we are two months into this though while states like NY, CA, and WA are holding their economies hostage for another month or more. Not to mention there could be more outbreaks as things start to open again. Just don't see the good news on the horizon. Little shocked so many are optimistic about things still.

Your logic is correct but you're pounding your head against an immovable object. Trade with the fed support, but don't extend yourself. You already have the reasoning to make money on the way down, when it's the right time. Continue to fight it, you'll only get more frustrated and lose money on principle. Your decision. JMO.
