Haven't posted on this board in a while and I'm no longer in the industry but I still enjoy seeing a healthy O&G industry as I'm involved through royalties. What is the general consensus when y'all see the "I did that" Biden sticker on gas pumps? I dislike the guy as much as anyone else but I personally roll my eyes and think there's so much more to it (Russia, Iran Nuclear Deal, OPEC cuts, etc.)

Ongoing Democratic policy, along with ESG scores and the green push combined with loose money has definitely done it. Biden is certainly a part of it and him killing BLM permits and expansive regulation (New Mexico Part 27/28, 'Ozone' rule, OOOOb/c, federal hydrogen push) at the start of his administration didn't help with the overall feel for the future of the industry. It ain't the one thing - it is the dismal tide. Green hair, bones in their noses, etc...

There is definitely a lot more to it but he would dang sure be taking credit if oil prices were going down so he should get the blame when they are high.

Like it or not, the president gets the blame and/or praise for gas prices. The average American probably thinks gas comes out of the ground like that and goes straight to their local gas station.

No. The average American knows you use a derrick to install a "spigot" or "tap", then the gasoline flows out of the ground to the gas station. Greedy oil companies collude to open and close the spigots or taps.

Yes and they drill through the pristine underground lakes holding our drinking water. And when they start pumping gas from the big underground oil and gas lake, the leaky pipe they use pollutes the drinking water lake when they pump the gasoline up to the spigot. Also this makes the water flammable. And then when the big oil and gas lake becomes hollow it starts to collapse and causes sink holes and earth quakes.

Anyone on this thread involved with third-party project consulting?

We have a fairly large (for us) project and I'm soliciting bids for a consulting firm.

It's a small diameter pipeline job in central TX.

Survey, permitting, some design, inspection, etc.

Shoot me a PM if you want to discuss.

While there is so much more to it, you think an administration that cancels oil pipelines and suspends leases will create confidence in upstream players to drill vs an administration that tries to cut through red tape and provides stability in the sector? Risk factors in and when an administration shows it'll take drastic actions against your industry, that'll probably affect decisions to drill.

I'm in the chemicals side so feel free to rebutte if any of y'all have experience here.

The whole premise of that article Is that companies like Pioneer only have 10 years or so of inventory left if they grow like they once did. Well, they don't need to grow at 15% YoY anymore.

Well guess we should plan on oil prices skyrocketing if we are down to our last 10 years.

COP tried taking them out when they bought out CXO. I believe part of the reason they bought out DE3 was to scare off anyone looking to buy them. Don't see PXD going anywhere until Sheffield is out of the picture
