How about the Epstein development and you name your wells after known visitors to Epstein island

I've named about 200 wells. From the giant pile of Birdman's useless information, here are my tips.

Short names. One or two words. Keep the numbers to a minimum, if at all. The numbers must mean something as well, Section or Abstract for example. Plus the well number if you are doing multiples. If you insist on them, put number at the end. For example, Hudson 46 #1. If you put the number at the beginning, everybody will screw it up constantly.

Make sure the names in your acreage are dissimilar. Otherwise, the RRC, your company and mineral owners will perpetually confuse them. When the RRC gets things mixed up, it is hell to correct. Naming a well the Smith-Jones is fine. You just can't name another one the Jones-Smith. Don't create extra work for yourself.

Don't use letters to distinguish different wells. For example...Shaq A, Shaq B, Shaq C, etc. These are Double Eagle wells in Upton. Same thing as previous example. Typically done because entire office wasted 30 hours one week trying to come up clever names and didn't do anything productive. So the boss says "NO MORE TIME SPENT ON WELL NAMES. NAME THEM ALL THE SAME THING, BUT ADD SUFFIX OF SINGLE LETTER TO DIFFERENTIATE! NOW GET BACK TO WORK YOU SLAP NUTS!"

Try not to make the name too localized. For example, Hawkwood drilled several wells on Riverside campus at A&M. Well names are Ol' Sarge, Howdy, Reveille, etc. That's a nice tip of cap to A&M. Guess what? Those signs get stolen all the time. You're going to get yelled at when the signs have to be constantly replaced. Or when the electrician can't find the location for two days because some college kid wanted to decorate his dorm room with your location sign.

Don't get cute or funny with well names. Joke gets old quickly and somebody will be offended. Wasting time with angry busy bodies is annoying. Keep it simple. All of the wells will have in-house nickname anyway. Half of our well names were turned into innuendos or fart jokes behind closed doors. One of the best wells we ever drilled rhymed with "Duckface".

If you want to name 10 wells, come up with 15 names. Keep with same theme. One of guys writing the checks will hate one of the names. One of the proposed wells will be the maiden name of surface owner's ex-wife. And so on. Give yourself a few backup ideas.

Just don't name them after Confederate soldiers or politicians... in 25 years, even speaking those names aloud will get you beheaded by the thought police.
