Just sent an email. I am looking for someone local in San Antonio.

yeah the COP layoffs have been announced for some time, everyone's just waiting for the doomsday ax to finally swing next week. Managers/Supervisors got marching orders & cut lists yesterday for their respective departments & lower level employees, although they themselves dont know if they are on chopping block until the dirty work is done.
Unbelievably chicken s$it.. Really no excuse to put someone thru this. But then ..nobody cares...
I guess it just depends. I wouldn't want someone else to lay my guys off for me regardless if I'm also getting led out after the fact. Wouldn't be right. They deserve better than that.
It sucks either way for the manager so you might as well do the right thing.

Anybody looking for a Safety Manager in west Texas? Not me...asking for a friend.
If so, let me know and I'll get you in touch.
Thanks.

What are they Saudis trying to do investing so much in America. They are rumored to purchase Houston Refining and are also partnering with XOM on a cracker and PE unit. I get the cracker, but why would they want a 250KBD refinery and put up with all the regulations we have here.
quote:How does the cracker make sense? I guess Saudi and XOM have long term visions, but aren't we about to be way over built on cracking capacity come 2018-2019?

I figure next up for those 'lucky' enough to make it through is a general downward shift in comp for the whole industry.
