Surely even you have to agree now that this thing called our economy is all just smoke and mirrors. It makes me laugh and then cry and really shows that the people in power across this country don't give a damn beyond getting "what's theirs" while they can.

I wonder if Vegas has an over under on when all this QE causes an implosion.

Anyone that thinks this isn't going to end badly is a fool, there is no other likely scenario. That said I have probably started the real demise of the market as I took thee 1/4 I had in cash and dumped it back into the market after the FED announcement of no end to QE.

But then Fed lackey Hilsenrath just announced the "untaper" comment was misunderstood...it's just delayed until economy improves.

This crap and pony show is way past ridiculous. The correction won't start till the entire "house of cards" falls...and it will fall so fast there will be no getting out for some.

clay, i'm admittedly a novice but some of you guys seem to follow this much closer ....

I'm really looking for some thoughts on this. We're printing money...what are the consequences? Surely there has to be some adverse effects that occur at some point. Are you saying that's not going to happen?

^Stocks keep going up (Because the easy money has to go somewhere) so all is great even though the overall economy has been in a 4+ year malaise on its way to a Japanese like 10 year doldrums!

The market is up everything is great/libs and dumb-asses

I'm just kidding. What I can say for certain is that no one on this thread is going to be right. Make good fundamental investments and you'll be fine, IMO

The consequences are inflation. Depending on who you talk to, we have or have not seen it yet. Wages haven't grown so inflation isn't out of control. All that's happening now is the rich are getting richer and the poor getting it in the ass.

So the wealth gap is getting wider which in my opinion isn't healthy for a society. It'll create animosity when one group gets all the benefits and most nothing.

If you want to think cynically about it, Eventually the poor will revolt especially if they get their benefits cut. It's almost better to keep paying the hush money so you can enjoy living like you are now.

Went short just before lunch. Best case, a government shutdown, worst case, Obamacare gets funded. Either takes the market lower. Lose-lose.

If we default and the debt ceiling isn't raised, we may see 13K. I think we're down 50-100 per day until that happens.

If we default, the DJIA will be the least of your concerns.

There will be no default it really can't happen and most everyone saying it could is playing politics.

Only good buy I made this week was moving $5k from cash to market in my wife's Roth.

Did the same thing with wife and Is IRAs this AM. I didn't know if I should hold off but I was tired of trying to speculate and saw some positive news about the shutdown talks and figured what the heck...
