WTF, OP... so angry. I can't imagine being this much of an a-hole against tourism $$ when no one on the internet is anonymous.

I was in Houston end of May, and I saw very few people with masks. Bars were full, restaurants were full, gas stations were full.. no one with a mask. It's no wonder now a month later they are having a full blown explosion of cases. How more obvious can the cause/effect be?
Since the science is so obvious, why is LA county exploding with cases? They have been wearing masks for a long time.

And I live in Houston. Anywhere you went that "no one with a mask" was a rare exception. No one wears masks in Collin County. They keep going down. Whats the obvious cause/effect on that?
did LA open at 100% capacity just like Houston did?

Denver opened up at 50% capacity.

Houston didn't open with 100% capacity and you know it because you constantly ghost the Houston board

Yup - it's called a scholarship - my guess is bank of mommy and daddy paid for your school - so I don't expect you to understand financial hardship or the fruits of your white privilege.

If that's really your best retort - you're small minded and low budget.

https://www.foxnews.com/health/wearing-mask-cuts-own-risk-novel-coronavirus-65-percent-experts-say

Fox News even admits wearing a mask helps decrease transmission. That's a shocker for them to admit but sometimes a blind hog finds an acorn.

And here comes the "guilt them for being white" card. A bit early, but well played.

Again, doesn't matter what you want or think at this point - it's the law for my county and most of those surrounding us.

I don't care if you want to be the fool that gets arrested for preaching about your rights at the grocery store while refusing to wear a mask. I need something to read in the daily paper to amuse me and that's amusing.

No newspaper needed. Your posts are amusing enough.

(Though the newspaper is really just another example of white power and the anti-minority imperialism, so not sure why someone as enlightened as you is reading it. Those down with the struggle know that TicTok is where one goes to get no -whitey news)

I'm not going to get into the moronic political pissing contest that this thread has devolved into but we just got back from Estes Park and I would say ~90% of the people we saw were wearing masks out in public. Stopped to eat in Colorado Springs and saw the same thing.

So theres that.

I'm not sure this statement holds much water. Hogs primary sense is smell which is more acute and useful than many other animals such as deer. Their eyes use monocular vision instead of binocular vision (used by humans) so they sacrifice depth perception for a greater field of vision that detects movement. While they are by no means blind, a blind hog would likely find food like acorns through smell. Also, a blind hog might be killed early in life if it was a major deficiency and so acorn hunting would be of much less concern than panther mauling.

Ski resorts definitely rely on Texans because Texans pay full price for skiing. They'd all go bankrupt if the only lift sales were season tickets purchased by locals.

DougCo opting out of requirement, and taking it further by announcing they are leaving tri- county ASAP and forming their own health department.

I'm in Ouray this week. I've seen RVs and vehicle license plates from just about every state. I'm pretty sure there are more Texas license plates than Colorado license plates and I've yet to meet a "local" that didn't move here from out of state.

That being said, there are plenty obnoxious Texans that give us a bad name (looking at you Fort Worth group staying next to us). However, many locals have gone out of their way to be overly hospitable and thank us for keeping them in business.

You are conflating the issues. I think most of us agree that wearing a mask is a good idea, and already do so. Somehow, you turn the focus to "stay away from Colorado." So to try to be clear (and hope I don't hurt your sensitive feelings, which you need to man up and get over by the way), can we come to Colorado if we wear masks? Or is this a general ban by you of all Texans?

Maybe justpanda massive butthurt about Texas stems from the rich oil guy from Texas who initially developed Beaver Creek. Adding to his butthurt the rich texas oil guy inherited the oil business from his Dad. Adding more salt to his wound rich texas oil guy went to SMU.

I've been following this bizarre thread for a bit, very strange... Anywho, pre covid, I commuted to Denver every other week (for years). I work for one of them evil oil companies that all the Boulderites want to kick out, even though a lot of Denver is full of guys commuting like us and other oil and gas and trickle down associated businesses downtown. Anyways, I've gotten the anti-Texas rhetoric forever, it's what Coloradoans do, usually tongue in cheek now. We've sorta been replaced by Californians on the top of the hate list as they are the ones that royally screwed up the real estate. I like to bring that up when some uber driver in downtown Denver that is actually from Chicago starts in on Texans.... Then you go to Crested Butte or Steamboat and they hands down swear Texas is the only thing that keeps them open. Those direct flights from Houston to Hayden (Steamboat) are a major money maker for them, as are the ones to Montrose, etc.

Anyways, when I am not being a backwards/obnoxious/redneck in camo ski and oil worker Texan going to my Lodo Denver high rise apartment, I live in innerloop Houston (Heights), and I don't know where some of these people that visit Houston have been, but innerloop Houston is VERY compliant with masks. There hasn't been a place I haven't been where we weren't. Maybe the suburbs are different and I suspect they are given a few trips to Galveston and out to Katy/Cypress for car service and a few errands once stores opened up, I noticed some drop off. But get back into the city, and it's rare to see someone without a mask on at stores, restaurants, etc.. And the restaurants around me in Heights/Montrose/Galleria are taking temps, tables spaced out, taking every precaution and hardly full in any capacity.. I'm sure there's some bad actors (Looking at you Washington Avenue) just like anywhere in the US. The majority are taking it seriously in the actual city and have been, but county may be different (insert ITL snob joke here, ha). I just want this to blow over so I can get back to full steam ahead with my job and go spend my business and personal dollars in Colorado to annoy the relatively few natives that are on the front range and Summit County folks again. Take care everyone and stay safe! Colorado is a beautiful place, that is full of nice people overall and if you can get out to some great hiking this summer, enjoy!
