lil99chris,

My wife bought our tickets and park reservations the other day and she was able to make park reservations at Hollywood Studios even though the website said that HS was sold out for that day. Did we get lucky and somehow get in or are we gonna possibly show up and not be granted entry?

If your MyDisneyExperience shows you have Hollywood Studios as your park reservation for the date, you are in good shape.

great update for hollywood studios...for the first time, you can join the virtual queue for rise of the resistance from outside the park. perfect timing for my trip in two weeks

Here is the link for those interested. Should definitely make things less stressful at Hollywood Studios.

i'm guessing the security lines (and parking, temp check, skyliner lines) were getting too ridiculous.

That is up to Gavin Newsom. I wouldn't expect anything until Summer 2021.

We went to Disney World this past week. It was awesome. Kids are 9,7, and almost 5.

We arrived on Sunday Oct 25th and came home Friday Oct 30th.

Monday: Magic Kingdom
Tuesday: Hollywood Studios
Wednesday: Epcot
Thursday: Magic Kingdom

Crowds were very light on Wednesday and Thursday. It was hot but manageable by ordering a snack at one of the indoor dinning areas.

We stayed at the Grand Floridian and rented a car due to the monorail not running to Epcot and not wanting to mess with the busses. Worked out well especially with the later park opening times we would go to Chick-fil-A and grab a snack and drink before Hollywood and Epcot.

Monday: Magic Kingdom - we rode every ride. Started the day on Mine Train and ended on it's a small world at park closing. We rode the monorail to Contemporary and walked to Magic Kingdom but they didn't open until 8:30 which is the same time the monorail dropped us off at Magic Kingdom on Thursday so there was no benefit. Cosmic rays is a great place to grab a bite to eat and cool down with indoor seating. You will need to mobile order.

Tuesday: Hollywood - Got to the parking lot about 9:20. Parking lot opened about 9:15. We went straight to Toy Story Land and got in line for Slinky Dog. While wife waited in line, the kids and I rode Toy Story Mania. We walked right onto the ride. Got off and got in like for 20 more minutes before riding slinky dog. I forgot to set alarm to remind myself to try and get in the queue for Star Wars so missed the 10AM. Was able to get the 2PM queue and rode the ride at about 4:30. We ended the day waiting in line to ride Mickey and minnies runaway which was pretty fun but not worth the 90 minute wait it was early in the day.

Wednesday: Epcot - we were all kinda wiped by day 3 after going open to close on Monday and Tuesday when with the shorter hours. Heat and not walking as much thanks to Corona big causes. We did test track right off the bat which was awesome and then Frozen ever After. My kids could have been down after these but we pressed on for a little while. Rode Soarin and Nemo before ending on mission Space. It was a fun day but hottest of the 4.

Thursday: Magic Kingdom - rode the monorail to MK from Grand Floridian and got thru gate at 8:30 and basically walked on to mine train from there we went to Big Thunder Mountain and splash mountain. There was a 15 minute wait on BTM so we went and did it again. By 9:45 we had ridden Mine Train, BTM twice and Splash Mountain. We ended the day at about 4 on Mine Train because the kids were toast.

Just got back from Disney World on Monday.

Had a great time. Although I don't like how they based Galaxy's Edge off the new movies (I'm not a fan of the new movies), it is really well done and immersive. We also got to ride both Rise of the Resistance and Smugglers Run. My kids loved both. Wish they had based "Star Wars Land" (as my 5-yo calls it) on Jedha from Rogue One, where everyone acted like the park was about to be shot by a space laser, but that's just me.

Epcot is under major construction, but still ok. Test track and Soaring are really fun. Probably the weakest park right now in our opinion.

The Pandora rides and Expedition Everest at Animal Kingdom are great. The "Flight of Passage" ride is excellent. My 8-yo made friends with the ride attendant lady and we got to ride twice in a row without getting in line a second time.

The Magic Kingdom is and will always by our favorite. We hammered the rides. 7:30am (30min before official rope drop) to closing. Rode splash mountain, big thunder mountain, mine train, and space mountain multiple times. I had no idea my kids were daredevils, as I was a complete chicken for roller coasters as an 8-yo.

In our experience, always get to the parks an hour before they open, because they are usually open before the official time.

We already are looking to go again in December.

Hey lilchris, any idea what the DW cancellation policy is after April 30, 2021? Any word about extending Book with Confidence?
lil99chris

At this time, the book with confidence policy is set to expire at the end of April. For arrivals on May 1 and after, the change/cancellation policy goes back to 30 days. However, Disney is constantly adjusting their policies as things continue to change and I can let you know if there are any updates as we move through the year.

Plenty of great room discounts available right now. Give me a call. I will be happy to assist!

Surely masks will be gone for Disney by Jan 2022, right??

I would love face coverings to go as much as anyone else, but I imagine they are staying for a while. There have been no announcements and I see Disney being as cautious as possible when it comes to this situation.

I am going to be highly upset if they continue the policy once everyone has access to the vaccine. We really need to be able to go before April 2022 because our 4th kid will still be free, we can still stay at the resort we like before we have too many people, and they gave us a free day because of some problems last visit.

And it is child abuse to require 2 year olds to wear masks.

Here's what their CEO said last week but I'm not sure what to believe. I think a place like WDW will push for Covid measures longer than the average places. Especially compared to the rest of Florida. He's referring to the vaccine rollout and herd immunity.

"And that could accelerate our expectations, and give people the confidence that they need to come back to the parks. Will there be overlap until we know that we have herd immunity? Sure there will. But do we believe we'll be in the same state of 6 foot social distance and mask wearing in 22? Absolutely not."

Agreed. Our kid turns 2 in April and we're going the week before his birthday.

I don't have much pull.....I can book resorts and sell tickets. If there is an issue, I can get it into the right hands to resolve.

Does anyone have any experience staying at Hilton Lake Buena Vista Disney Springs and getting to Magic Kingdom? We are only doing one day. Seems like lots of ways to get there but none sound great. I want to be there early for rope drop or getting in early. I am thinking either drive my rental car or Uber and then ride the bus back to a Disney Springs. The hotel shuttle does not sound reliable and I can't get an early enough reservation to eat breakfast at the contemporary and walk over.

Don't try to Uber to MK, the cops are out all over and they are ticketing Uber drivers who try to drop people off at the corner near the park or at the Contemporary.
