Yes. My point is they've screwed themselves by not addressing it better before the game. These mid-game bandaids will have issues, as they have already.

Or conspiracy theory...they intentionally didnt "fix" the areas furthest from the rubber knowing that only Miz can be impacted that far out with this extension.

They probably looked at it from the perspective that this is the last game in the stadium this season and said eff it.

I think more teams might try it next year

That 4th run scored in spring training. Gotta know how far out you can catch that ball. But having that mound in play is really rare in this day.

Hate to see that. Don't recall ever seeing a pitcher leave due to a leg cramp. Of course, I've also never seen a WS mound this ****

This whole park is an abomination and an affront to the baseball gods

It was the back leg, right? Unlikely to be related to the mound at least. I hope anyway...

Probably not that pitch, but uncertainty about your base is not a great place to be. Wouldn't be surprised if it had him engaging to keep stability throughout the game and it caught up with him. There was a fair amount of slide forward in the front which the back then tends to extend a bit more

Almost feel bad for the Rays players with how many brewers fans there are

Yeah, I get it is hard to pass up selling to Brewers fans for a fat profit, but how embarrassing

Also, I love Uecker, but maybe we could not bring up the cringe letters that Pat Murphy wrote in the bottom of the 9th? Or ever?

Apart from the Astros wins and appearances that was the most enjoyable Series in a long, long time.

Love the way these teams play the game.

Congratulations to the Milwaukee Brewers for defeating the Tampa Bay Rays 4-1 in Game 5 to clinch their first-ever World Series championship! The Brewers went 103-59 in the regular season and 11-2 in the playoffs, including a 4-0 sweep of the 2-time defending champion Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLCS. Their combined 114-61 record is one of the one of the most dominant wire-to-wire regular and postseason campaigns in modern baseball history.

100%. I understand the reasoning behind the new approach, but this is just much more enjoyable to watch as a fan.

*Good for you Bud Selig*

Edit for Context: Steinbrenner was a first class a-hole. Selig, however, established a great rapport with Joe Torre who currently serves as the Special Assistant to the Commissioner (Rob Manfred).

As Owner of the financially crippled Seattle Pilots, Selig was responsible for bringing the franchise to his beloved Milwaukee hometown in 1970. He thereby relinquished his ownership interests to the Brewers franchise upon accepting his role as MLB Commissioner from 1992-2015.

He's still alive at the ripe age of 92 to finally see his Brewers achieve World Series Crowns. If anyone loves the Brewers more than Bob Uecker, it's Allan Huber "Bud" Selig.

Very happy for the Brew Crew!!! Always felt like fellow travelers with franchises that started about the same time seeking that first one, now both franchises have one. Also, best logo in baseball by far.

I got calf soreness this week from a 2 mile run on a treadmill at 10% grade. Probably very similar to what he was dealing with, if that landing spot was just a little awkward.

Wow. 12 days with the organization, played in 4 games, and then re-signed with Houston, according to internet.

WTF is with these L$U tards trying to claim Jacob Misiorowski?

Dude committed to OkSt out of HS but lost his senior year to covid, goes juco, then he does commit to L$U but never plays a game there or sets foot on campus, gets drafted in the 2nd round out of Crowder College, and the rest is history.

Coincidentally, Brewers closer, Aaron Ashby also pitched at Crowder and was drafted in the 4th round about 5 years ahead of Miz.

My wife and I watched everyone single game this season. We might have missed a couple of innings overall. Plus we got to see six games in person (3 in Houston, 3 in Milwaukee).

What a season!
