Agree. We have to remember that the guy played a grand total of 44 minor league games before making the bigs, only 17 of which were above single A-ball. He's been having to do a lot of learning at this level, and that has its ebbs and flows. I really do think he'll settle into being a very good player

There's a good podcast out now called "To the Majors" that's hosted by Kevin Pillar and Cody Allen; both of them live in the DFW area and have had a lot of players with Rangers connections on the show so far. If you're a little skeptical of Pillar, like I was, give it a chance, he's very even handed. A few weeks ago they had Ian Kinsler on (great episode) and there was some brief discussion about Langford.

Pillar talked about how he met Langford during spring training last year and was amazed at how big his hands and forearms were, just how physically ahead he was compared to others. Kinsler brought some good perspective that mirrors what you said above -- that the hype around him (Baby Trout) has made it hard to see his growing pains for what they are and that this is a super hard sport that takes time to master. But man, if he's figuring it out now...holy smokes. He's almost carrying this team offensively by himself right now.

It was mentioned on the broadcast last night that he is going to play every other day until they get back to Texas. Kind of silly if he's out of protocol, but whatever.

I'm beginning to wonder if he even want to play anymore. As someone mentioned earlier in the thread, his brother retired at about the same point in his career.
