I know batting average isn't cool anymore. But if you open up the ESPN app and look at our averages it kind of almost looks like a baseball team. If you squint really hard.

Tyler Alexander starting (opening) again tomorrow. Has the same pitcher ever started two games in a row? I'm sure it has back in the Tungsten Arm O'Doyle days. Or maybe during the opener era in recent years that I'm unaware of.

We've played 2.5 years of mediocre baseball with only brief reprieves. I tried to stay positive this season but they aren't that interesting and there is no breakthrough coming. 9 out of 10 losing seasons. Break it up - every single player is tradable.
Enjoy the team for the sake of summer time baseball. Remain thankful for 2023.

While I recognize that great hitting catchers aren't easy to come by, the Rangers seem infatuated with signing guys who are career 200-220ish hitters, and then seem surprised that they don't hit better. I agree that Diaz has looked a lot better than Jansen - he's a better hitter and probably as good or better defensively.
The Rangers have 13 wins since May 29, most in the AL

AJ Russell — the Rangers’ No. 3 prospect, per @mlbpipeline — has been promoted to High-A Hub City

Russell had a 3.04 ERA in 12 starts with Single-A Hickory this season. He also threw three perfect innings in a spot start at Hub City

Hmmmmmmm….suspicious.
Could explain a few things or are they giving him some down time to gather himself or perhaps a move to the pen?
Here's the story they're putting out. I don't buy it for a second. This all goes back to the slip on the on-deck circle in April. He has continued to pitch through it, even as it has gotten worse. #Rangers aren’t sure how they will make Tuesday work, but expect an opener. https://t.co/H5d9bb5CLU

Rangers pitcher Jack Leiter had an arthroscopic surgery to remove a loose body in his ankle region this morning
— kennedi landry (@kennlandry) June 23, 2026
The surgery was performed by Dr. Ned Amendola at Duke University.
The Rangers expect him back before the end of the season, but timeline is fluid.
