I like Cauley as well. I was calling for him to be called up before his promotion. I get it on Lopez I just think he's a good clubhouse guy that does the little things.

There are a lot of factors outside of next year's labor issues on whether to potentially call him up but that could be a big one. Maybe it's a positive sign on the labor front if they do ha.

I agree with that on Lopez, but now we have Freeman for that. Freeman is basically just a leveled up version of Lopez. If Osuna is joining the team, it's the same for him. You can only hold so many guys who are dirtbags (I use this term in a loving way) that don't really slug.

Lopez has a career slug of .310 going back to 2019 and he has 8 career HRs. The ceiling is just too low, for me.

It's why I always hate "selling."

You just don't know how the end of the season will go. Houston benefited with sustained Div Championships ... not because they were so talented, but because the rest of the AL West mailed it in. We were on the verge of selling off deGrom which would have led to other selling.

Houston would have won the Division not because of how good they were, but because everyone sold. NOW, we're likely to win the Division, they are likely going to miss the playoffs and a turnover in FO is occurring.

Funny how a couple Ws makes such a difference. Still sub .500, but "look at us, mom. We're in 1st place."

It makes no sense to fire a GM and manager when you lead the division, short of some type of extreme unprofessionalism or disrespect.

This is either the death knell for Houston, or now they're "playing for Joe."

It will be interesting to see how they finish the season.

When a team like the As and Halos have gone to a youth movement and had success... like the Halos beating us and the As beating them... as an Owner, you are thinking "our team got beat by minor leaguers. Oit minor leaguers are better than their's" it could lead you to believe there is talent (Walcott) you can bring up to improve the team.

If the GM isn't playing along, you get rid if them.

His contract was going to expire after this season. Even if Houston makes the playoffs they won't be around long. Crane is getting the jump on other teams. It's a smart move. He's seen what Dana's done over the past 4 seasons and it wasn't good enough.

We were all thinking either the mariners would get going or the Astros would run away with it.

Amazing to think that the Astros might waste a triple crown season by one of their players.

I don't like taking up too much of this thread with Astros talk, but it really is insane that the Astros have a shoe-in MVP in a guy who has a 1.050 OPS and they are in extreme risk of missing the playoffs in a bad American League.

At least our excuse is our entire offense is extremely mediocre, two of our three best everyday hitters are hurt most of the time, and two of our "best" hitters can't even play everyday because of pitching matchups.
