The problem isn't "these guys need better coaching to hit". The problem is these guys aren't legitimate major league hitters.


I like what Lopez has done in the year, but if he's going to carry a .250 average, he needs some pop. 1 HR isn't going to cut it.

It's so damn frustrating. Don't tell me you can't find 8 guys who can have decent splits against lefties and righties. Also, as prop said, there's too many guys that aren't big league everyday players in the lineup.

That average was around .320 at the break. He's been an auto out since.

I follow them as my NL team. There really isn't a comparison how bad their bullpen has been. They'd be in a playoff spot in all likelihood if it wasn't for the amount of blown saves they have. The Rangers aren't great but it's not horrendous either.

They have 32 blown saves. Record is 37. They're 27th out of 30 in mlb in bullpen era.

It's a lot of guys who have never done much of anything, or small sample size guys.

Lopez is a career 0.247 hitter with no pop.
Diaz is a career 0.245 hitter.
Kelenic is a career 0.212 hitter.

Carter was a great story in 2023. Helped us win a championship.

Since 2023 when the league got the book on him?

0.208 hitter... In 640+ at-bats.

It's just a really mediocre lineup without Jung and with Seager struggling.

The Rangers bullpen has a 5.56 ERA since the all-star break, which is second worst in the majors over that time. They gave up another 4 runs tonight so that number will go up.

It's akin to the "little rascals"... In small sample sizes it makes for a fun story, but over the course of a 162 game season it's unlikely to produce.

The 2023 team had a handful of guys who had close to career years, but none of them aside from Heim produced long-term at a level that was just absolutely shocking.

Without looking up stats, he has not been good of late. At least since the all star break, maybe longer than that.

Was only a 2-0 game last night, then Winn/Gray got lit up and then it became a lost cause pretty quickly. At least Montgomery put up a couple of scoreless innings, so hopefully he is coming around as a bullpen option.

I'm trying to think positive, but I'm just not seeing anything other than a 500 club here. The kind of team that, even if they make the playoffs, are pretty much one and done. JMO

Just remember... their first 2 rounds are against another team that's .500 and the White Sox. After that, they would be huge underdogs but still could be a fun few weeks.

They also were huge dogs against the Rays and O's in '23 and we know what happened.

Weak grounder found a hole, liner right at Joc and equipment failure prevented a double play, sac bunt, weak chopper to first scored the run.

Agree on Winn'a outing. It was the fact that Skip did not want anyone up for Gray when he had lost the strike zone which put the game out of reach. Totally on him, again.
