Skip will get better.

Debatable.

It's not like he's a first time manager. This is his 3rd season as a MLB manager. Maybe this is as good as it gets. Maybe he'll get better. But it's not a certainty, and questioning his viability as the manager is a legitimate conversation.

This was some of the complaints on him with Miami. I'm afraid this is what we are going to have with him.

Going to the Rockies game tonight. Any recommendations on places to hangout before the game?

Not much around the stadium. If you are driving and don't care, Denver Beer Co is really good.

What are we looking for Skip to do?

This batting lineup isn't underachieving aside from Seager.

We've had 1 winning regular season in the last 10 years with what … 4 managers?

I'm tired of blaming them, there's only so much they can do with a pile of **** This falls, and only falls on the entire Front Office.

Oh I completely agree. I just think it's a fair conversation to discuss Skip as a manager. Roster issues aside, he has made some pretty questionable in-game decisions. Like repeatedly giving the ball to Wynn, just as an example.

When something is working instead of sticking with it he tinkers with it

Or putting both Diaz and Wynns in the lineup at the same time yesterday, instead of letting Joc go lefty/lefty
Proposition Joe

I just don't see anything about this roster, especially with the injuries, that makes it more than a 500ish ball club.

Seager has had a ****ty year and the league got the book on Carter.

Everyone else is in line with their career histories.
Water Boy

This is a really dumb question but how does a lock out impact contracts? Would guys like Seager lose a year of pay or would he still be guaranteed his salary? Also, how does that impact guys on rookie contracts?
CowtownAg06

I think.... guys on long term deal don't get paid and won't get that money back if games are missed. However, I think service time does accrue for FA/arb purposes. This is one of the biggest reasons you will not see Walcott this year.

First off, Coors Field is an experience itself. Love that place.

There are a bunch of places within a few blocks of the stadium.

And if he isn't on the 40 man he can still play I. Minor league games. Those are still needed.

So 3 homestands to go in the season.

First one starts tonight - 6 vs WAS/LAAA.

Then 7 vs OAK/TAM.

Final 9 game homestand vs BOS/TOR/NYM.

@ MIL and @ CHW on the horizon... So heater doesn't have to start this homestand, but we really can't afford a losing homestand.

Yep. Schedule gets a lot tougher on paper down the stretch. Of course, we just went 2-5 against the two worst teams, so maybe strength of schedule doesn't matter with this team.

Yeah, I'm kind of in that mode where I don't think we'll be dancing come October but with how bad the league is I'm not turning it off until I think the death knell has come down.

I think on this homestand, 1-5 is the death knell.
2-4 is life support.
3-3 still a chance.

Need to go at least 4-2. You have to play above average ball at some point.

Agreed, I still turn it on and watch when I can. It's baseball.... and we may not even have baseball in 2027 (at the mlb level at least).

I don't know about the 6th game, but we're at least winning 4 out of the next 5 to get back to 65-65 and keep up this ridiculous 500 streak

I'm guessing Austin Wynns will never be in consideration for the Rangers Hall of Fame.

I get it, and I hope it turns out to not be true. But it looks more and more likely as we move forward.

Based off what? Just curious who you seen information from that actually knows anything. And don't say that nerd Jeff Passan

It's not just Passan, I am sure you follow some of the other national baseball writers on twitter. This has been mentioned over and over by plenty of them, this isn't exactly ground breaking information. They aren't even really negotiating, so yeah, doesn't look good.

You want to know how hard it is to sell new Season Tickets to fans of a team under .500 with constant rumors of a lockout?!

Mr. G needs to feed his family.

A lockout is the last thing I want. Hell, I am one of people who follows enough to pay to watch games at home . The worst part is for the non-players who work for the teams, and also the nearby surrounding businesses. They get punished when the rich players and the even richer owners fight over the millions/billions of dollars.

Hopefully they find a way to work it out.
