I grew up watching Vin Scully in the '70s with the Dodgers.

It is huge pressure to say I believe Jared has the potential to be this generation's Vin Scully.

He is such a student of the game. He brings in all the baseball cards guru stuff that baseball nerds feed on.

He brings in all of the "next gen" perspective of baseball that the young generation desires. And he does it with a humility and exhortation that is an encouragement for his audience about whom he is speaking.

Dude is awesome. Hope we get more.

I wonder how much Maddux has left in the tank. Didn't he almost retire before & after he took the Rangers job? Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have him….if he's fully invested in being a pitching coach and doesn't just have it on autopilot coasting towards retirement.

Pretty sure the Rangers broadcast last night said the Angels have the best AL bullpen ERA since the ASB.

No doubt - just a funny number exercise.

He was looking to be a Manager. IIRC, he has twin daughters he was waiting to graduate HS... then once they did the Manager spots dried up for him and he ended up moving around as a PC.

I'd being him on as a system wide PC that developed young pitchers. He may not want to be a full time guy.
