He actually has pretty good stats this year, 1.15 WHIP, 3.06 ERA.

We need to hang on to Walcott, Russell, Scarborough, and probably Moore. Also everybody we drafted in the top 3 rounds this year. Nobody else on our farm is buying any significant big league help. We can be pleasantly surprised if we can add a major piece for nobody listed above.

People need to understand the reality of this situation.

Edit: Most of all we need to get healthy. Get Jung back so Seager can have some protection and lengthen our lineup. Get Monty, Bradford, and Leiter back so we have options.

The fan short sightedness of trading prospects to help a .500 team have a 50/50 shot of making the playoffs and then have a 10% chance of winning the WS is maddening.

I think the Rangers are done making moves now. We are going to sink or swim with what we have IMO. We found a couple of low cost adds, but we aren't taking on any significant salary (that seems pretty clear).

I think this is where we're at and I agree with it. This team could be a 78 win team if Seager doesn't amount to anything this year... A 88 win team at best if he does.

Even one major add doesn't make this a real title contender.

Throw in potential work-stoppage and it's tough to make any real long-term deals, and any long-term deals you want to shed are going to have a fraction of their normal worth.

You're in August and you've got a potentially competitive team, just let it play out.

We got what we needed in Silseth, without giving up much. We need to finish the season with what we have, unless there is a monster deal with not much going back, and see how we finish. Playoffs? Great. No playoffs? Well most of us didn't expect that any way.

Or unless it's another Silseth/O'Hoppe type deal and get someone that's controllable beyond this year for a low level prospect and taking on their salary (which wasn't much by MLB standards but seemed to be a motivating factor for the Angels).

I almost hope there's a full lock out next year and no baseball because the team would suck balls anyway.

I get that if its going to happen you'd prefer it in a year where you likely wont be a true contender, but I can't imagine wishing for no baseball.

I'd rather go 0-162 than have no baseball. 2020 was flat out awful having to wait around for that joke of a short season but even with 60 games and empty stands I was so excited when it came back.

I don't really remember much of '94 because I was 9 but it couldn't have been good.
