I just don't think anyone is trading anything for Seager and taking on his salary with the pending work stoppage and CBA negotiations. No one is trading for a huge contract of an often injured player when no one knows if there will be a salary cap after the negotiations. At least I don't think they would.

So we are likely stuck with him even if we wanted to trade him. So have to just hope to get in and hope he gets hit at some point more than likely.

Seems like the same song and dance every season. Play .500ish ball for most of the season then slowly fade away.

Yep, still a lot of season left. And a manageable schedule as well. If we can stay relatively healthy, no reason we can't win a weak AL West division.

I think everyone here knows where we stand in the playoff race. We are RIGHT THERE. But I think we all know when the regular season ends the Rangers will not be participating in the playoffs. I'll be happy to be wrong but not feeling confident if the last decade is any indicator.

Houston has won 9 of their last 10. That is not sustainable for the rest of the year. We will be fine.

We have less chance of making the playoffs than we do making it. But, I'm all in until we're out. Let's playball and see what happens.

Win the next 2 games, with favorable pitching matchups, and we'll be in great shape heading into a very manageable stretch of baseball.

An interesting read. Its an old piece sure. I was googling what the Astros gave up to get Yordan.

I won't lie. I've always been bitter about how the Dodgers fleeced us for darvish and gave a probable mvp this year to the Astros.

I didn't realize how bad the lucroy and cole hamels trades were as well, but NOBODY panned out from those trades for us.

Lucroy sucked, jeffress sucked, Calhoun was a big baby and he sucked, Alexy never panned out. I barely even remember the guys from the hamels trade.

Thankfully the Gallo trade went well. I like the Angels trade even if the minor league player turns into something good for him. Silseth and O'hoppe are good value for one prospect.

Darvish pitched well for the Dodgers ( except in the world series). I still think we should've got Buehler or Verdugo for him.

DeGrom looks annoyed on the mound tonight.

Could've been a quick inning and now turns into a 20+ pitch inning. DeGrom's unwillingness to throw anything that moves down or right is insane to me.

They also had the worst couple of months in forever to start the season. Without those they'd have the division locked up based on how they've played since

Had we played a more traditional defense on the 2 out single for them the inning would have been over without any damage.

This is the last thing I'll say about it because I'm beating a dead horse, but his inability or unwillingness to adjust his pitching repertoire as he's aged being paid what he's being paid, is CRIMINAL. You are no longer throwing 101 with the best slider in baseball. You HAVE to do something different.
