The Brewers and Rays being on that list, as two of the biggest hurdles for the Dodgers 3-peating this year, will just give them a reason to claim all is well.

He's often wrong, so I won't believe it until it happens, but I hope it's true and they can pull it off. He gets used as a pawn by Boras during free agency, and it wouldn't surprise me if teams leak things like this to him to put pressure on other teams.

He's also tweeted that trout is getting traded to Philly. It's clearly a troll account
Marvin

Are those troll jobs?

As for Stowers, I hope he's coming in as an OF. If just for 1B, he's basically a LH Walker.

Also, unless he can pitch, Jim will probably say no

By the way I don't trust that source. I would just love to see a Trout to Philadelphia trade

How do you figure, he's a left handed Walker? Because he can play 1B?

What a week. Now let's see Stowers.

You don't think we're talking to the Marlins about Stowers?

I don't doubt we asked, I doubt it's still ongoing, I don't see how we have enough to pull that off and get the pitching Jim desperately wants. Also earlier today he said we were after Luis Garcia Jr which would have made zero sense. We don't need more infielders

Look how little Garcia cost. Why wouldn't we ask if that caliber of player is available?

It was a 4 for 1 trade involving 2 major league players. Did they all suck?

Well, he's listed as a 1B, and his stats are similar to Walker's this year. Stowers is .237/.465/.787 with 16HR and 48RBI (ETA: and 120 OPS+). Walker is .238/.460/.744 with 22HR, 64RBI, and 115 OPS+ with 75 more at-bats.

Are those not similar, or were you referencing something else?
Marvin

Looks like Stowers has not played much 1B until this year, so that's good. Makes more sense to me, lol.

I've updated the Bingo Card picks sheet with everyone who picked the 6-game win streak. A lot of my favorite posters being rewarded today.

After double checking some math, there's also a new leader in the clubhouse.
TJACK16 is the first poster to 6 squares.
Extra props to CFTXAG10 and DekkerLentz for picking both the 6+ win streak and the 6+ loss streak.

GOAT REPORT
With two hits today, Jose Altuve is up to 2,468 for his career. He passed Roger Connor for 110th and is now tied with Frank Thomas for 109th. Thomas has more than 1,000 extra plate appearances on Jose.

I never got to see Connor play, in part because he was born before the Civil War. He got his career going in 1880.
He led the league in WAR without knowing it three times and hit .371 in 1885. I'm sure those stats are extremely accurate. My favorite stat of his is that in 1894 he had 25 triples, but somehow that didn't lead the league. He made the Hall of Fame in 1976 via the Veteran's Committee. They asked him if he had a speech prepared, but it turns out he had died 45 years previously.

The Big Hurt is synonymous with two things: Having the exact same birth date as Jeff Bagwell and pretending like he's friends with Doug Flutie to get you to buy testosterone treatments. The former fullback from Auburn was crushing the ball from Jump Street hitting .330 at age 22 in 1990 in a 60-game call-up that saw him put up a .983 OPS.

His OPS totals over the next seven years were: 1.006, .975, 1.033, 1.217, 1.061, 1.085, 1.067. He won back-to-back MVPs in 1993 and 1994, and overall finished in the top 10 of the MVP voting NINE times, including in 2006 with the A's when he was 38 years old. He finished with 521 homers, a .301 batting average, and a .555 slugging %. He never played in the World Series and only made the ALCS one time, when his A's were swept by Detroit in 2006 and he went a god-awful 0 for 13.

I would love to see Stowers traded to the good guys, but I can't help but think the Stros just might make a deal with the Blue Jays for Gausman, Varsho/ Springer. Wouldn't be surprised if it happened.

Costas and his boyfriends completely sucking off the dodgers right now on nbc. It's not the dodgers that are wrong, it's the rest of the teams fault

That's going to be a hefty fine from the FCC.

On the radio broadcast, they also mentioned that he is 2 hits behind Bobby Abreu for 4th in all time hits among Venezuelan born players.

Yeah he's played more OF this year than 1B. He's been an OFer for the majority of his career.

Ones a young controlled player who should stay good / get even better. The other is older on a big money deal who's in decline.

Stowers is an extreme splits players. His bat vs RHP is elite. Walker is equal from both sides.

I do see their slash lines are similar.
