Two games of Altuve back in the leadoff spot and we went 2-0
Don't change that Espada! Keep him there

In the AL Central, we'd be 3rd, 3.5 back.
In the AL West, we'd be 5th, 9.5 back.
In the NL Central, we'd be 5th, 11.5 back
In the NL East, we'd be 5th, 10 games back
In the NL West, we'd be 4th, 13 games back.
In the NL Wild Card, we'd be 4.5 games back of the last spot and behind 5 other teams besides.
Thank god for mediocrity.
I'd look into a trade like the one I posted yesterday. Find a team with a great farm with guts blocked where a deal makes sense. The Situation sheds have numerous OF who are blocked and River Ryan is 27 and also blocked. Peña for Edman to plug at SS and Sirota and Ryan makes sense for both teams. They clear up a logjam while getting to move Mookie off a demanding position at SS to 2B where their production has sucked. Edman gives us a lefty option at SS who is a good defender while we could call up both Sirota and Ryan this year (if not immediately). Ryan would let you bounce Teng back to the pen to solve your need for a RHP there. Obviously we take on risk that those guys can be productive as rookies but seems like a risk you have to take when you are a meh team and need the help long-term.Hornbeck said:
Agreed. This is not a WS team, let alone a WC team.
I *hope* that Crane and Dana see that.
Hope is not a strategy.

We could be the 2021 Braves and just roll out lefties that nobody can hit.
The question is whether we can match offers from other suitorsFarmer1906 said:
If we continue to play well enough to win, I want to go get Freddie Peralta as a rental for the run. The Mets ruined him right before he hit the open market. If Houston could fix him like they did Kikuchi, he could save his big payday and co-head the Astros 26 postseason run.
