It's amazing with how bad we were in April/May that we caught the Red sox at the right time and easily took the tiebreaker 5-1. The extra couple wins vs being 4-2 or 3-3 could loom large during the last week of the season.

Since Beltran in '04, have we traded for a single mid season bat that actually worked out?

I mean, a bunch of those years we weren't buyers but since 15....Carlos Gomez...Trey Manicini? And then all our backup catchers.

Now, technically one of the best hitters of his generation was a mid-season trade but he was in A ball at the time...maybe we are perpetually paying a Yordan tax from the baseball gods.

One that wasn't our fault it fell through was Bryce Harper in 2018. Nationals owner axed that one last minute and the prospects we sent ended up being nothing

But yeah I can't think of any. Hopefully Correa ends up working long term
