very good series win

the Astros won the close games...Angels won the blowout

tip of the cap to Hunter Strickland -- he played a key role in the 'stros winning rallies

By my country, that's 12 straight series either winning or splitting

Coming off a long road trip with a 5 game lead in the division, I'll take it!

until Yordan returns...

here's the top 5 in the batting order:

Pena
Jake
Paredes
Altuve
Cam

Jake's OBP rose to .369 today -- only Pena's is higher at .380

they are the stolen base leaders on the team

give Paredes more RBI opportunities

go with a 1980's style batting order

edit...on-base %

4-3

Reasonable expectation was 5-2

League figuring out Gusto and Walter, need McCullerd and Arrighetti to return soon

Gusto only gave up 6 hits (with no walks) in 6 innings. He just sequenced it perfectly to give up 5 ERs with the 2 HRs.

Agreed we've been living on borrowed time though with the AAA starting pitching standing on their heads (to borrow a hockey term).

And Strickland gave up his first earned runs of the season.

There's an off day tomorrow - he'll be ready to go Tuesday.

This lineup is so bad it's looped around to just being funny.

Hummel is an insult to anyone who watches.

This lineup manufactured 8 runs and won the game.

Just keep winning series and we'll be fine.

I feel like this lineup is only going to be lucky for so long. Lots of guys getting checks that aren't doing anything on the IL.

Our medical team is a joke at this point.

18 games left before the break, and a .500 record in that stretch puts us at a 91-win pace.

Definitely incredible effort for the Astros' 10th through 12th starters to hold things down to this point.

Need Yordan, McCullerd, and Arrighetti back soon.

Next 6 are v Cubs and Phillies. 3-3 would be a win, Framber will likely start 2 of those six but Astros will get the Phillies' 1-3 starters.

Seamens' next two series are 4 @MIN and 3 @Arlington.

As it stands Astros will be pitching Framber for 2 of those six and then the other 4 will be Brown, Gordon, Gusto, and Walter.

This isn't d|cking around with the A's and Angels.

The scary part will be if/when the AAA starters revert back into AAA starters. Right now there is a good case to be made that they are carrying this team. Sure Framber and HB are doing what #1s should do. But Gusto, Walker, Gordon and even in his one start Alexander have played way above the rim.

This is potential wheels fall off territory.

Astros have gone 14-6 so far in June so they've taken advantage of the weak schedule to this point.

For sure but this team hasn't lost more than 3 straight this season. Going .500 in the next 18 seems like a conservative projection especially with how good we've been at home.

Also, June is typically the month we get hot. This is obviously a big homestand.

4-3 road trip ain't too shabby

Wish it was 5-2 or 6-1 but I'll take it

Gonna have to go with Jake batting high to start Phillies series

Really would be great for Walker and Diaz to show up.

Best lineup at the moment is some variation of

Peña
Meyers
Paredes
Altuve
Smith
Walker
Diaz
Caratini
Dubon

Astros are now 13-1 when they score at least 8 runs.

The Astros extend their 1 run win win streak to 8. The last time they lost a 1 run game was May 20 at Tampa.

This would be solid. Although I also didn't miss (briefly) witnessing Diaz's garbage, no-****s-given ABs today.
