Wrong thread
I'm not mad about people getting on the bandwagon. I just dislike newcomers to the fanbase going into their immediate "The Sky is Falling" routine when a team has a slow start the following season. What you're saying and what I'm saying are two different groups of people. All I do is Nguyen said:I've always hated gatekeeping like this. Just because someone hasn't known about the team and their every move before making a big run doesn't make them less of a fan.The Original Houston 1836 said:
I would wager that 90% of the people *****ing about Aggie baseball didn't know anybody's name on the team before the Super Regional last year.
I started watching the Spurs after they drafted Duncan because I loved his play style and attitude. Does that make me not a "true fan" because I didn't follow them during the Admiral days or George Gervin? Hell no.
I started watching the Stars after they won the Stanley cup in '99 but been a fan ever since. Does that make me a bad fan because I wasn't obsessed with the Minnesota North Stars? Hell no.
Fans are allowed to not obsess over a team until they make some noise. Just be happy they support the team now, even when they criticize said team.
Jose Altuve will make his Spring Training debut in left field on Friday.

Jose Altuve’s glove. He also told me he’s “officially” an outfielder because he gave his infield glove to a kid. pic.twitter.com/CuGnyEmOkF

I'd say it DID work out for the big-league club. The first-year manager was able to rally the guys after an absolutely terrible start. The Astros probably shouldn't have made the post-season last year, but they did. Getting to the post-season is the first goal. Winning the WS is tough.W said:
what the Astros and aggie baseball have in common...
a very talented roster was handed over to a first year manager...
and, well, it did not work out for the big league club

Marwin Gonzales
Guessing since he didn't have an OF glove he got this one from Marwin. I'd like to hear the story of how he got this old Marwin glove.
I'm sure it was pretty simple asAg_07 said:

It can't be worse than the zoo after a loss during football season.agdaddy04 said:The Original Houston 1836 said:

I think I have to stay away from the A&M baseball threads. It's absolutely brutal.

Wasn't someone using an old Tyler White glove or cleats maybe that they found in a storage closet?
It's always interesting to me to hear how these guys procure their equipment and how they go about choosing what they do.
It's worse because of the breaks between pitches, batters, and innings. On the football field, by the time one terrible play is over, we're already doing something else dumb to top it. On the diamond, those mound meetings and pitching changes let the rabble rousers go insane. All I do is Nguyen said:It can't be worse than the zoo after a loss during football season.agdaddy04 said:The Original Houston 1836 said:

call your shot, does Cam Smith make the club out of spring training?
No chance, but when he's got 20 HR on June 1 and Jake is hitting his weight for the third straight year, it will be interesting.Bag said:

AA, but only for 20-30 games before he's in Sugar Land.iBrad said:Bag said:

A better question would be which affiliate does he begin the year with and which does he end with.
This process ain't easy, it takes time. And in Houston, we love the work.
