I'm not mad about people getting on the bandwagon. I just dislike newcomers to the fanbase going into their immediate "The Sky is Falling" routine when a team has a slow start the following season. I started watching the Spurs after they drafted Duncan because I loved his play style and attitude. Does that make me not a "true fan" because I didn't follow them during the Admiral days or George Gervin? Hell no.
I started watching the Stars after they won the Stanley cup in '99 but been a fan ever since. Does that make me a bad fan because I wasn't obsessed with the Minnesota North Stars? Hell no.
Fans are allowed to not obsess over a team until they make some noise. Just be happy they support the team now, even when they criticize said team.
Although if you're rooting for the Stars and the Spurs, you might have to become a probationary Astro fan going forward

I have seen fans of a team for decades lose their **** after a loss lol some fans just don't know how to handle a loss. Once I learned to take my emotions out of sports I've been so much happier
Get hot in conference play, warm up even more as the tournament approaches. Stay healthy throughout (Grahovac...man). That's the goal. Worrying about two losses in February is shortsighted.

I'd say it DID work out for the big-league club. The first-year manager was able to rally the guys after an absolutely terrible start. The Astros probably shouldn't have made the post-season last year, but they did. Getting to the post-season is the first goal. Winning the WS is tough.W said:

I still don't know what to think of this Altuve in LF experiment.
Part of me thinks this is a good idea and everything is gonna be just fine. Him and the team have really embraced it and going full bore ahead. Don't think they'd take that approach if he was looking lost and out of place. Maybe he's taking to it well and it'll turn out as a success.
The other part of me cringes thinking about Altuve sprinting into the corner to chase down a tailing line drive then trying to come up firing to try and nail a baserunner taking an extra base. Just doesn't give me the warm and fuzzies that it'll be anything short of a disaster.
We shall see I guess.

Can y'all read that script? Whose glove is that because it's several years old. Wilson stopped using that logo with the circle around 2000.
Glove day better be soon so our boy can get this in season one game ready. I hope he rocks a similar one to his INF. They've always looked awesome. I almost bought one but ended up with the 2019 Correa model.

Espada had to navigate a black hole at first, a third baseman struggling mightily out of the gate in a walk year, an MVP candidate missing three months with a bone bruise, the loss of more starting pitchers to season-ending injuries, and the less than ideal situation of signing a new closer and demoting your current, World Series winning closer. And yet he won the division and made the playoffs.
You act like Espada had everything fall into place perfectly for him and he screwed it up. It was the exact opposite, and I thought he did a fantastic job keeping the team on track and finding success through adversity.
I don't really care about college baseball rankings. The Ags just need to have a good enough season to host in the post season, and then hopefully have a successful run with a mostly healthy team and some good fortune, as winning baseball championships at any level requires some good fortune along the way.

It is worse because they are taking football mentality to a baseball team.

I got to hit on the field a few years back. They brought out a bunch of bats for us to use. I broke a Fiers and Marisnick bat. I brought the Jake one home. They had all sorts of random players.

It's worse because of the breaks between pitches, batters, and innings. On the football field, by the time one terrible play is over, we're already doing something else dumb to top it. Not that much different than sitting in the stands for a HS game TBH. When my oldest pitched in HS years ago, you had 10-20 "experts" at every game giving the complete breakdown of what every single 15-18 year old kid was doing wrong for 2-3 hours a few nights a week. At least I can turn the Internet off
