I feel the same way about Bregman as I did with Springer. I don't think they will age well on a longer contract. The injury history will catch up with them and degrade performance.

I could easily be wrong, but he could perform well for another year or 2, but the dropoff will happen in 1-3 years. Just my opinion.

I think he will decline later, but you may be right. Alex didn't miss much time after the 2021 season.

I would rather we move on at this point and spend that money on other positions, but Crane won't go over the CBT for anyone else apparently. Boras must be pushing his postseason experience as a main reason for him deserving closer to the 7 years/$200M figure.

Very little impact of firing afterwards. Scott gets all the dough from this contract, which will easily be the biggest deal he gets (from MLB or whatever New York piggly wiggly crap commercials he can conjure). I get why he can't fire him before though because wherever he signs Scott will say he did all the groundwork and sue his ass.

To summarize:
- no matter what, Jose is playing some left field this year
- it's either Jorge or Alex
- Chandler thinks Cubs may be a possibility, though he doesn't say why other than the fact that Ryan and Kyle are there and they have the payroll room (I don't think their ownership would exceed our offer)
- Josh thinks it drags into spring training
