They won't go bankrupt but the debt will affect the sale. Maybe instead of $6 billions, they sell for $5.5B. $1B in deferred debt to us peons sounds like a lot but it's all relative. So why have a luxury tax in the first place? It's simply increasing the threshold of the luxury tax for the richer teams.

They don't entirely get around the luxury tax. It's discounted based on assumed inflation but is accounted for. They should get rid of the discount altogether if they want maximum deterrence.

For his career, Profar is closer to last year's Jake and Chas.
