Payroll Check-In:2025 CBT: 241 M
Estimated 2025 CBP: 228 M
We only have about 13 M to play with without going over. We will go over unless we get creative with trades (Pressly and...?), but we will be able to get back under in 2026 even with a big signing or two.
We have the following coming off the books after 2025:
- Framber 17.5*
- Tucker 16.0*
- Pressly 14.0
- Caratini 6.0
- Montero 11.5**
- Abreu 19.5**
- Total: 84.5 M
*estimated arb**outright or releasedIf we assume we increase Breggy's offer to 6/165 (27.5 per) then we still have around 50-60 M to play with to stay under in 2026. That could get you a stud arm or the Polar Bear. Crane would have to be willing to eat the tax money in 25 along with the draft & international repercussions.
Could you imagine how stacked 25 would feel if we ran out a lineup of:
- Altuve
- Alvarez
- Alonso
- Tucker
- Bregman
- Diaz
- Pena
- McCormick
- Meyers
Or Take Pete out and then your rotation is:
- Framber
- Fried
- Brown
- Blanco
- Spaghetti / McCullers
- Javier in the 2nd half.
No reason we wouldn't be the favorite to win the AL. This is why I am against moving Framber and Tucker. We have a shot to get back to the WS in 25. We're been spoiled but those don't come around often.
