MLB radio this morning basically said "great player but the Mets are still in 3rd place in the NL East".
The have no starting pitching, soon to be no 1B and no 3B. Add in that Soto is not a great defender and it's a fair argument that from a baseball team perspective, they would have been better off spending that money on 2-3 players.
But who am I to argue with Steve Cohen?

I think he is "handcuffed" and in a bad situation if he (and Crane) are focusing more on 2025 than on 2026 and beyond. We have some valuable pieces that we could use to "reset" with good, young (controllable) talent. If that is not in the plan and we're sticking with "run it back" in 2025, then we'll run right back to where we ended last season. Just my opinion.texasaggie2015 said:
