Relievers are weird and seem to be on/off year by year. You can never tell what they will be like. Pressly and Montero could be lights out this year or they could suck donkey balls. It m right be better to see what they have before trading them at a low point.

Gotta remember 2019 was also the year of the "juiced ball." The stat that stands out the most to me when comparing his 2019 and 2024 season is his walk totals: 119 in 2019 to only 44 in 2024. He only had 56 more PA in 2019.

When this much times goes on and it's not an A-Rod or Ohtani situation, it really makes you wonder what the deal is. How many teams are actually involved, etc.

I'd love some fly on the wall stories of when an agent tries to play hardball and the teams just say forget it.

I really think his prolonged slow starts to the season and his elbow issues have teams thinking his value is not what he and Boras think it is if he wants 6 years guaranteed. Having the Astros move on to Paredes and Walker so quickly probably screwed up what Boras planned to use for leverage with other teams.

Based on the Soto deal and learning that Burnes gets premium tix in his deal, along with Porkchop saying Bregs had some wild demands. I am starting to think he not only wants a suite, some premium tix for his family and racehorses with then are nearby and for SOL to be the only allowed salsa to be served in the stadium.

I'd still personally be willing to offer Alex a 1-2 year 25mil or so deal.

Let him try again next year and gets him off the books when Smith is ready to take over the hot corner. Move Paredes to first for this season.

That was also the last happy moment for PhillyFan that season. It was followed by Javier and friends throwing a no no and Yordan launching his WS winning piss missile over the top of the wall in dead ass CF off a shell shocked Jose Alvarado.

Flexor tendon. The same **** that ended his 2021 season and late start to the 2022 season start late is the same **** that delayed him in 2023. They finally stopped trying to rehab it to death and did the surgery. Clearly a huge mistake there. They found a giant ass bone spur when they went in too. He was supposed to be back around the ASB but had a setback in early July. I believe he was doing up/downs (simulated innings) or just about to.

Really hope he's able to come back this year. Even half a season of good LMJ would do wonders. Him and LuAce would make us a top 3 rotation

In 2021 LMJ pitched 162.1 innings, the second most of the staff (Greinke had 171.0), and had the second best ERA of the staff at 3.16 (Framber had 3.14). That's after he was hurt in 2020. Dude also tried to come back in 2022 after getting hurt in 2021.

Frankly, I think questioning LMJ's passion or saying he's trying to ride out a lucrative contract is lame considering he's following the medical advice of the Astros staff in surgery and rehab. We've heard zero displeasure of his rehab efforts from the organization, unlike what he heard the organization say about Tucker.

It certainly is possible that's what he's doing, but neither LMJ nor the organization has given any indication that's what's going on.

Lance is in the same category as Bregman when it comes to passion.

He may have a lengthy injury history and he may not ever throw another pitch but I won't ever question his fire and passion.

Dude certainly leaves it all out there and I appreciate that.

Maybe I misinterpreted your comment, but how in the world could anyone make an assessment on that? I'd actually say the opposite. He keeps getting hurt trying to come back.

I love Texas Aggie sports, but I love Texas A&M more.
