Lorenzen... Overall impressive performance. Cold weather could have had an impact on his BBs. I think that will work itself out.
There have been lots of complaints that between banning sticky stuff and Umps not doing a good job rubbing balls down, lots of P (Fairbanks in Colo, as an example) are complaining that they just can't get as good a grib with the cold weather.

It would then be Dunning's turn. Leiter threw last Friday, so this would be the place to insert him if we wanted to do so.

If it were in charge and contemplating putting in Leiter for a spot start, I'm probably pushing him towards Thursday. I don't like the idea of him having to face Atlanta in his first Major League start. But what do I know!

MLBab app showing TBD Wednesday & Thursday. At this point they usually have everyone lined out for the rest of the series. Looks like it's a possibility!
If we needed a spot start at this point (which it looks like we do as you have eluded to), the only two guys it could realistically be are Jack Leiter and Danny Duffy. Owen White and Adrian Sampson have been nothing short of a dumpster fire with RR this season.
If the choice is Wed or Thurs, I would go with Thursday. Starters pitch once a week in the minors, and I think his regular day is Friday. Wed might be pushing his weekly routine a bit, Thursday is closer to his normal day. But I am sure he could figure it out if needed.DallasAg 94 said:

Agree 100%. Besides Atlanta's lineup, it's also a relatively empty stadium in Detroit vs a likely full/nearly full stadium in Atlanta. 7-9 are almost auto outs at this point. Walsh is slumping since the first week, Leody seems to be barreling more balls lately but still struggling. Dont get me started on Knizner. Huff needs to be on this roster, if not to back up Heim but to also give us a big RH bat at DH that we currently don't have.
Something tells me they're hiding their time, with Walsh, until Lowe gets back
