I'll take a guy who plays great defense in center, hits above 250 with a bit of power and can steal a base at the bottom of the order every.damn.day.and.twice.on.sunday. I'm old enough to remember all of the stiffs we've rolled out in CF - Gary Pettis, Cecil Espy, Damon Buford, Laynce Nix, Juan Beniquez. etc.

We could do one hell of a lot worse than Leody in CF. Rant over.

You don't get to move the goalposts now. That's what you said. As great as he was for us last season, Jank is still a career .241 hitter over 10 seasons. He's about to turn 33. You just suggested benching a 25 year old with a few years in the bigs for a career 4th outfielder.

Come on, man. He had a great season last year, but that's as good as Jankowski is ever going to be. Taveres at least at this point in his career still has the potential to get better.

Jankowski isn't great but his at bats are typically productive. Have to have that in the 9 hole with this line up. What we can't have is a guy that has been struggling to do everything in the box for awhile. Need someone that can lay down sac bunts, walk, or move runners.

Thats my thoughts. I'll stop derailing the convo and talk about the game now.
