So... the background here is that he played for Ecker or one of the Asst batting coaches while at UofGeorgia, IIRC.

Good on CY for getting him here, but fromwhat I understand, it was his connection with the hitting coach. I've tried to recall/search for it, but lose interest before connecting/validating.

Regarding Walsh... in 2024, he is Arb2, so the Rangers have 1 more year of team control. COTS has him at $1.25M.

Lowe is at $7.5M. He has 2 more years of control/Arb.

I'm cool with Langford at DH for a year as he continues to take field work. I'd hate him getting stuck as a DH long-term.

Good lord. Taveres has basically played 1 1/2 years as a starter. In that time, he's hit .264, with 25 SB, 19 HR and 101 RBI. That's pretty damn good for a 9th place hitter. Not to mention he's a gold glove caliber fielder.

Here's a news flash. The Rangers aren't going to have all-stars top to bottom in the lineup. I'll take a guy who plays great defense in center, hits above 250 with a bit of power and can steal a base at the bottom of the order every.damn.day.and.twice.on.sunday. I'm old enough to remember all of the stiffs we've rolled out in CF - Gary Pettis, Cecil Espy, Damon Buford, Laynce Nix, Juan Beniquez. etc.

We could do one hell of a lot worse than Leody in CF. Rant over.
