He's managed to be bad both in and out of the zone. Multiple pitches fully in at the bottom of the zone called balls and multiple pitches to the batters away side that have been called strikes even though they have been a full ball or more outside the zone.

At least he's consistently bad.

I see no reason to. He has not pitched enough to vest the option for next year. I'm sure the Mets will appreciate the $$ saved as well as us

Unless he wants to come back for $10-15 million which I don't think his ego could handle. Honestly, the guy owes us a couple of seasons...he should come back and pitch for the minimum

He's 33 and coming off a 3/$36M deal...guessing he will be looking for something in the same range, i might go 3/$45M for him...maybe stretch to $50M

Doesn't appear he has had injury issues since he came to MLB. You know you aren't getting more than 5-6 IP/start...I would think we make him an offer unless we are SURE we will have cheaper options in Garcia and Urquidy back for start of next season.

Not sure about that, as the Mets are paying $25m of JV's salary so our actual cost is like $15-20M. Kuchi probably gets a new deal worth $15+ M per year just based on his performance with us. So about a wash.

Think I'd rather sign kuchi and trade one or two of those guys to address the loss of Alex's bat.

I'm still holding out hope we can resign Bregman AND extend Tucker.

If we let Framber walk as a FA after next year, we still have Javier, Garcia, Urquidy, Arighetti, Brown and France for '26 without tons of $ invested. If I am GM, I see if I can secure this lineup for the next 3-5 years with Altuve, Alvarez, Tucker, Bregman, Diaz and Pena at the core (4 or those 6 are either signed or under team control through '27), and let the young arms do their thing. Just one option.

Yes, that's my point. If we sign Kuchi we wouldn't be saving much if anything vs what we paid JV this year.
