This guy behind the plate is the poster child of why we need robo umps
not watching...only following online. is ump really missing all of these, or is the graphic on mlb.com off that much? Some of these aren't even close that he is supposedly missingMathguy64 said:
1-1 and he's gotten them both wrong.
He's managed to be bad both in and out of the zone. Multiple pitches fully in at the bottom of the zone called balls and multiple pitches to the batters away side that have been called strikes even though they have been a full ball or more outside the zone.AlwaysNextYear89 said:not watching...only following online. is ump really missing all of these, or is the graphic on mlb.com off that much? Kuchi will be a free agent, thoughAll I do is Nguyen said:
Do we bring JV back next year? I think it might be time to move on from him. Given how spaghetti, Kuchi and Blanco have stepped up this year we may Not need him
He's 33 and coming off a 3/$36M deal...guessing he will be looking for something in the same range, i might go 3/$45M for him...maybe stretch to $50Miamtheglove said:Kuchi will be a free agent, thoughAll I do is Nguyen said:

Not sure about that, as the Mets are paying $25m of JV's salary so our actual cost is like $15-20M. Kuchi probably gets a new deal worth $15+ M per year just based on his performance with us. So about a wash. All I do is Nguyen said:
If Kuchi can keep doing what he's been doing, I think we could stand him for way cheaper than JV

Too much respect for who JV has been (understandably) and not balls to make a decision based on what he is this afternoon. He's battled his ass off but he's got nothing today.W said:
Espada leaving JV in at 100 pitches
Yes, that's my point. If we sign Kuchi we wouldn't be saving much if anything vs what we paid JV this year.PoppaB05 said:iamtheglove said:Not sure about that, as the Mets are paying $25m of JV's salary so our actual cost is like $15-20M. Mets won't be paying anything. He didn't reach the IP threshold for the option. He will be a free agent at the end of the year
